Student answer (Band 5.5)

Today with the increase in the technology and its usage it is benifing the people and also proving that science can do anything.Truely technology has proven it seeing the 21st century growth in this area.People ,government and private firm are now very keen to this.New development in technology boosting the researches all around the world.

One such research is in medical science. Today medical science is mostly running on equipments which are technologgy driven. So to be best in this with full accuracy research is very well needed in this field. As governments have very limited budget private companies have started taking a very good intereste in this research work and also with a promising profit in future. Today there are many private companies who are not just making medicines or machines forusing them in hospitals but they are doing researches in this dimension. Further research in medical projects brings accuracy, low costing at the end ,easy process and quick results.

Conducting researches requires lot of capital first. So in my opinion government should play a very limited role in researching activities as they have a lot other work to do as administration and welfare of the people. Thus government should better be at the back door with supporting hands to the private firms to indulge more in this researching things. Private companies with a profit oriented mindset are perfect for researching activities so in a time bound manner they perform research with a targeted outcome that brings more accuracy to research activity also.Further in my opinion individuals scientist collaborating with private companies in researching field bring a good combination of dedication and passion to research with a good capital investment by big firms.

At the end, to conclude research in medical projects should be funded by private entities supported by government by giving land or easing the licencing or policy hindrance giving a boost to the research environment for the development of a mankind and a nation too in economic perspective.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing who should fund medical research and presents a clear personal opinion that private companies should take the lead with government support. The introduction and body paragraphs touch upon the role of private firms, governments, and individual scientists. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive, particularly when reiterating the benefits of private funding and profit-oriented mindsets. The conclusion summarizes the main argument adequately. Although some points could be explored with greater depth and specific examples rather than general statements, the writer does address all parts of the task satisfactorily, earning a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text is organized into four paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Progression is visible as the essay moves from general technology to medical research, then evaluates the roles of government and private companies. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, with awkward transitions such as "At the end, to conclude" and referencing issues like "forusing them in hospitals" and run-on phrasing. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the argument, but overall logical flow is occasionally disrupted by choppy sentences and minor structural awkwardness, placing this criterion at a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common collocations and topic-related terms such as "profit oriented mindset," "capital investment," and "administrative and welfare." However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as "benifing," "Truely," "technologgy," "intereste," and "licencing." Additionally, phrasing like "researching things" and "researching field" reflects unnatural word formation. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede overall communication, fitting the Band 5.5 descriptors well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional-like structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, missing articles, and awkward phrasing, such as "As governments have very limited budget private companies have started," "lot other work," and "the development of a mankind." Punctuation errors and run-on sentences appear throughout the text. While meaning is generally clear despite the errors, the frequency of basic and complex structural inaccuracies prevents the score from rising above Band 5.5.
