IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In your opinion, do you think that research should be carried by private companies, individuals or government?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In present days a lot of medical research projects are sponsored by private compnies. According to my prospective research should be funded by government. I have two kind of opinions for this.

First is that, in these days a lot of medical research works are sponsored by private companies. But according to my opinion the research projects shoud be carried out by administration.

The reason behind my conflict is that whenever any private company supports any research procedure ,first of all that organization will set some compromisable conditions .

For example, if any medicine company do suponsore any medical related project to any goverment private hospital in return that company will take some compromisable conscent from that hospital. They will set some conditions , like that hospital will be bounded to buy products of that company.

Similarly, many pharmaceutical companies support some medical projects and in response they sign some documentation. In return that the researchers will be bounded to buy there medicine and other medical related products of that company. In this way many other companies also do the same things and in this way they sell and market their products.

I have andother idea that , if the medical related project is supported by any company or individuals ,it should be supervised by the establishment . And the establishment should encourged on both ends where they needs any support. That support could be related to finance bas well.

Therefore, my opinion is that the medical related research works shoud be handled or supervised by the establihment itself, because many research projects are sensitive kind of project, that iswhy thsese are supervised and supported by government.

Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or awkward, such as 'I have andother idea that'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as the pronoun 'they' is used ambiguously. These issues place the response at Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The lexical resource is limited and displays frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples of spelling and typographical errors include 'compnies', 'prospective' (intended as perspective), 'shoud', 'suponsore', 'goverment', 'conscent', 'bounded', 'there' (used instead of their), 'andother', and 'establihment'. Vocabulary is repetitive, with phrases like 'medical research projects' and 'private companies' appearing multiple times.
