Student answer (Band 4.5)

This days doing reserch very neccesary and important thing and if it is medical reserch so it should got more anttention beacuse medical is core of our socity and for the well being of humans and nature it should done more appropriatly and done in suttel way.

many of scintiest or doctors found to do thier rescerch in a certain way so they dont feel comfortable if someone is intrupting in thier reserch or whatever expremint they want to do with thier colluges so they prefer to do this all thing in a private formate, and they took help from private sectors or the private firm who fullfil there assigment fund becuse this kind of reserch incluid lot of money and private compnies are quite cabaple to complete thier requirment even they dont include multiple paper work they just do this in bussines purpose or else for the charaty to doing something return to the society .

if speaking abot goverment funds and including goverment this procces required lot of rush and paper work gettting funding from the goverment is not at all a easier thing beacuse the resecher should be desgined his reserch as a presentestion as well as they have to anlyis all the financial documents correctly so they dont get any hurdel to collect the fund from the regime even after all this a person who refere them also could be required.

so perhapse this should be a reason why people found to work privately and get funded by private compny becuase in my opinion when reserchers get his funding fast so thier work were enrolling as per the deadline date or as per thier choice so whoever gave the fund the procces should be shorter and faster.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding who should fund medical research, leaning towards private companies due to faster funding processes. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. While the writer touches upon the bureaucracy of government funding versus the efficiency of private firms, the arguments lack depth and formal support. The position is understandable, but the explanation meanders and does not fully weigh individuals against government and private companies as requested by the prompt. Key ideas, such as why private companies are preferable, are repeated without much extension, placing this response firmly in the band 5 category.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The entire essay is presented as a single, excessively long paragraph without proper logical segmentation. This severely disrupts the coherence and progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or misused (e.g., 'if speaking abot goverment funds', 'so perhapse this should be a reason'). There is a lack of clear transitions between contrasting points, making the text difficult to follow. Referencing is also weak, with ambiguous pronouns ('they', 'this all thing') causing confusion regarding whether the writer is referring to researchers, companies, or the research itself. This falls below the requirements for band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

Lexical resource is a significant weak point in this response. There is an extremely high frequency of basic spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'reserch', 'neccesary', 'anttention', 'socity', 'scintiest', 'expremint', 'colluges', 'formate', 'fullfil', 'cabaple', 'hurdel', 'regime', and 'perhapse'. The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, and word choices are often inappropriate or unnatural (e.g., 'core of our socity', 'doing something return to the society', 'rush and paper work'). These frequent errors and limited range impede communication and restrict the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical structure of the essay is heavily flawed, consisting primarily of long, run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'so' without appropriate punctuation. There is a near-total absence of full stops within the body of the text, leading to massive comma splices and fractured syntax (e.g., 'if it is medical reserch so it should got more anttention beacuse...'). Control over basic grammatical rules, such as subject-verb agreement ('resercher should be desgined') and tense consistency, is weak. Complex structures are attempted but are consistently faulty, resulting in frequent errors that impede the reader.
