Student answer (Band 5.5)

Although, the medical research projects are funded by private companies these days, it should also be considerate by other individuals or government through different approaches which makes those researches look seperate from the ones made by private sectors.

Private companies are involved in research assignments more, as the results are more likely to be authentic due to the seriousness of the sector. Individuals in private sector work more with enthusiam as there are strict policies of work and salary for which work for projects like this is not taken for granted. For instance, in pakistan private companies are more organised than government as there proper check and balance of individuals working there.

In contrast, government sectors can get good amount of responses from individuals if they continue to do a medical research. As we discuss the finacial need of people currently, they are more comfortable to visit places which has less cost or are more likely to be free and due to that the number of individuals increases in government hospitals, schools, colleges, or offices which can provide great amount of individuals to respond to researches and increase the chances of reasearch to grow up. For example, government hospitals does not have any rules for patient's family, as many people want to be in the hospital can stay which makes hospital full of choas and becomes easy to conduct research.

In conclusion, whereas private companies are more keen to do researches now a days however, government will also have a good impact if it carries out to do a research. In my opinion, i believe that researches should be done more by government as it includes plenty number of individuals getting into it and chance of more new research would also be increased by that.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt in a limited way, presenting a position that leans towards government-funded research, but the ideas remain under-developed. For example, in the second paragraph, the writer mentions that private companies have strict policies and good organisation in Pakistan, but this point is not fully connected to why research should or should not be carried out by them. Similarly, the argument about government hospitals providing participants for research relies on vague assertions, such as claiming that overcrowding makes it 'easy to conduct research.' The main arguments lack sufficient extension, resulting in an overall partial treatment of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some basic organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but there is a lack of clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, though internal transitions between sentences feel mechanical and sometimes repetitive, as seen with phrases like 'As we discuss the finacial need of people currently' and 'In contrast'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the exact logical thread between paragraphs. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that cohesive devices are used more naturally and that each paragraph follows a clearer, step-by-step logical progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are issues with word choice, word formation, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'considerate' instead of considered, 'seperate', 'finacial', 'choas', and 'plenty number of individuals'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, like 'authentic', 'enthusiam', and 'check and balance', but inaccurate collocations and spelling mistakes prevent the language from reaching a higher level. Expanding the range of precise academic vocabulary and focusing on correct word forms is essential for improvement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, with frequent errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Although the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often faulty or poorly punctuated, such as the initial clause 'Although, the medical research projects are funded...' which misuses a comma and lacks necessary articles. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'government hospitals does not have' and 'carries out to do a research'. A stronger command of basic grammatical structures and punctuation is needed to ensure clarity.
