Student answer (Band 5.5)

medical researches are most crucial and concerning topic which attracts alot of attention towards it due the fact that alot of treatment strategies formation of medicines diagnosis of various diseases are highly based on medical researches.students and professionals are contributing in these researches on a high scale as it makes them more prone towards the nature or depth of the medical history there are different types researches that are being conducted in all over the world because our students and professionals as well has developed their keen interest in researches they aim to prove them selves to be an efficient in their fields

well medical researches are being conducted in all over the word and is offered by private companies as well as government companies basically research is done at the level of phd and thats obviouly an expensive one if you selected a private sector but in case you find an opportunity in government based research center thats well appreciated because its far much better than private in a sense of saving alot of money but there is one fact also sometimes private companies are charging high rates because of many essential factore that government doesnt have also some prefer to do it on indivisual bases so they will have free will to do their work no time issue no submission boundaries they focus on their work according to their schedule they even perform again and again without any hesitation of being asked by supervisor

from my perspective one should conduct their researches from goverment as you have exposure to many facilities once succeded its also budget friendly as its offered by goverment by itself and you also may get chance to correlate with experienced supervisor who may help you alot in completing your ressearch and after all that after completion of your research you will be awarded with honour for doing great work for your country as well as appreciation from public one other fact is that government awrded some amlount on monthly bases to phd holders in goverment sector researcher are instructed by lagend researchers who help them alot you can easily use intrument whatever you need without taking stress for being paid the price if anything broke from your side as all expenses are beared by government itsself so ill definitely go with government rathere then private or individual because in individual case you are alone master of your work and sometimes you even didnt notice your own mistakes and assume youseld as successful researcher so its better to do your research under exprienced supervision

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether medical research should be funded by private companies, individuals, or the government, and the writer clearly leans toward government-backed research. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, which keeps the response at this level. While the writer mentions reasons such as cost-saving, access to facilities, and experienced supervision under government initiatives, these points lack robust elaboration and specific examples from real-world contexts. Furthermore, the position is sometimes obscured by the continuous flow of loosely connected ideas rather than distinct, well-supported arguments. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to extend each main point with deeper explanations, clear illustrations, and a more structured evaluation of the alternative options, such as private funding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some organization, particularly in the final paragraph where the writer consolidates their viewpoint on government research, but overall there is a lack of clear progression throughout the text. The response suffers from poor paragraphing and formatting habits, notably the lack of proper capitalization and punctuation breaks, which makes the text appear as a dense stream of consciousness. Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive, making transitions between sentences and ideas mechanical and awkward. For instance, sentences are often strung together with basic conjunctions or run on without appropriate punctuation. To improve coherence and cohesion, the writer must implement a clear paragraph structure with an introduction, distinct body paragraphs for each option, and a conclusion, while employing a wider and more accurate range of cohesive ties to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used throughout the essay is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some topic-specific terms such as 'diagnosis', 'medical researches', and 'phd holders', but the overall range remains restricted. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as writing 'indivisual bases' instead of 'individual basis', 'goverment' instead of 'government', and using 'amlount on monthly bases'. These lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling mistakes are noticeable and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, incorporate more precise academic terminology, and ensure correct word forms and spelling are consistently applied across the entire piece.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range demonstrated in the response is limited, relying heavily on basic sentence structures alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. The text is characterized by an absence of proper punctuation, run-on sentences, and missing capital letters, which severely disrupts grammatical boundaries. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, prepositions within grammatical patterns, and pluralization, such as 'treatment strategies formation of medicines diagnosis' lacking necessary conjunctions and punctuation, and phrases like 'beared by government itsself'. These frequent errors place a heavy burden on the reader and cause confusion. To progress, the writer needs to master basic sentence boundary punctuation, improve control over complex clause structures, and reduce the frequency of fundamental grammatical and punctuation errors.
