Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, medical research is very important. Many private companies are doing research projects. In my opinion, Government should do this projects not private companies.
On the one hand, private sectors are very expensive. They are spending a lot of money. Their main aim is to make money. The treatment of any type is toomuch. They don't care about people health. Some time they hire some people from outside countries and they charge more money. After if they find any new technology to make new medicine some time they sell to new companies. But, there are also some benefits of private sector they always bring new types of medical treatments and new medicines which are very helpful. The good result of disease can be find very fast ways. Also private companies spend to much time to get new information.
On the other hand, if the government make any hospital. The hospital charge small money or free medicine. Moreover, for poor people it is a great benefit. If they go in any government hospital. For example, in 2118 during corona the government spend a lot of fund to make vaccines and give to the public for free. Also some time a few types of camps government provide to public. The price of any medical treatment is very low.
In conclusion, the government should be responsible for this types of project private companies are very expensive. Public should get free medical treatment for any disease. Any type of operation spose to be free foe poor people and government should take his responsibilty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion that medical research should be funded by the government rather than private companies. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding why private sectors are expensive, stating that "they are spending a lot of money" and "their main aim is to make money," lacks extended explanation or concrete elaboration. Similarly, the points raised about government hospitals and the COVID-19 pandemic example mentioned as "in 2118 during corona" are surface-level and lack the depth required for a higher band. While the position is visible, the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack full elaboration, keeping the task response at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic logical organization to the essay, utilizing paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, the discussion on private companies, the discussion on government funding, and a brief conclusion. However, the overall progression is sometimes hindered by abrupt transitions and repetitive cohesive devices. Phrases like "On the one hand," and "On the other hand," are used, but the internal links between sentences are often mechanical or lacking. For example, the sentence "After if they find any new technology to make new medicine some time they sell to new companies" lacks smooth referencing and adequate logical connectors, resulting in a slightly disjointed flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about medical research. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that occasionally cause difficulty or require the reader to interpret the intended meaning. Examples include "people health" instead of people's health, "small money" instead of a small fee, and "foe poor people" instead of for poor people. The writer attempts some less common terms like "medical treatments" and "technology," but frequent lexical inaccuracies and basic, repetitive phrasing restrict the score to this band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on short, simple sentences. While there are some attempts at complex forms, such as conditional or dependent clauses in sentences like "if they go in any government hospital," these attempts are often faulty. Frequent errors are present in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, including "this projects" instead of these projects, "government spend a lot of fund" instead of spent a lot of funds, and "spose to be" instead of supposed to be. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
