Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this new era, medical sectors now has been boming career path in the medical and health related problems. many researches now has ivolved in this perticular sector. and huge amount of money and time has been involved in it. many private companies provides fund to the researchers to develop new medicines and health suppliments to rise the market.

In my opinion, i believe that private company should fund to such projects for better efficiency of materials and equipments to fasten the research to get rapid results. the private sectors takes less time to disbursed the cost of project taken place. with less numbers of documentations and process. highly efficient networks they provide to complete the project. for example, i once read an article on how private companis are investing their money for the better future opportunities in health and medical centers. every year companies provides 15 billion dollars into research projects.

meanwhile, the government takes more time to pass the file and more time counsuming towards the process. sometimes it takes 10 to 15 days to disbursed the fund for the project. which leads to delay in research. even, individuals needs heavy fund to access the projects like this. for example, my cousin was selected as a scholar in medicine collenge to give his contribution in government projects but the process were very lengthy and time taking.

This concludes that, private companies should give their involvement to provide fund rather than the governmnet which has more lengthy process and are more time counsuming.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially, presenting a clear position that private companies should fund medical research due to their efficiency and speed. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. While the writer attempts to provide supporting examples, such as the mention of an article discussing corporate investment and a personal anecdote involving a cousin, these examples lack depth and broader analytical elaboration. To move to a higher level, the response needs to extend its arguments further, exploring potential counterarguments or discussing the broader societal implications of private versus government-funded research rather than relying on brief and repetitive points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization present, with the text divided into four paragraphs representing an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical flow is hindered by mechanical and repetitive transitions like 'for example' and 'meanwhile'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the structural links between sentences are frequently faulty or confusing, such as abrupt shifts in ideas without proper signposting. To achieve a stronger score, the writer needs to improve the logical sequencing of arguments and ensure that cohesive devices are used more accurately and naturally to guide the reader smoothly through the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary related to the medical field and business, such as 'suppliments', 'disbursed', and 'investment', but these attempts are marred by noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice, including 'boming', 'ivolved', 'perticular', and 'collenge'. These persistent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and impede clear communication. To reach a higher standard, the student must expand their lexical range, demonstrate better control over word formation, and eliminate frequent spelling mistakes by carefully reviewing their vocabulary choices.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of structures, with mostly simple sentences and frequent faulty attempts at complex ones. There are pervasive grammatical errors throughout the response, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('medical sectors now has been', 'private companies provides'), missing or incorrect articles, and awkward prepositions. Punctuation is also problematic, with sentences frequently broken up incorrectly by full stops. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader in places. To improve, the writer needs to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring proper verb tenses, and reducing grammatical inaccuracies across all sentence types.
