Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent days, many private companies put a considerable about of money in numerous research projects. I believe, it is completely fine if the research are carried by multiple sources as it would mitigate the issues of sponsorship researchers face while conducing a research and would boast their confidence in carriying out a reseach.
It is undoubtedly a critical issue that researchers lack sufficient amount of money in pursuing their work. Since, to carry out a research successfully one needs expensive chemicals, equipments and complex characterization techniques which requires good amount money and collaboration. Sometimes it becomes hard for the teachers and students to meet with the expenses. As a result, they are forced to put a stop to their works. If the weathly demographic, private companies and government authorities of a society come a step forward and invest in such projects, the researchers could be able to meet their needs and bring out successful inventions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear opinion that research should be funded by multiple sources, including private companies, individuals, and the government. Your position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, while you explain well why funding helps researchers afford expensive equipment, the second main body paragraph tends to over-generalize and lacks fully extended supporting evidence for how lack of funding frustrates students in developing countries. To reach a higher level, you need to provide more fully developed explanations and concrete examples that support your main arguments consistently across all paragraphs, ensuring every point is thoroughly explored rather than left partially generalized.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as financial needs in the first body paragraph and confidence and motivation in the second. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, transition phrases like 'On the other hand' are used somewhat awkwardly here, as the second body paragraph continues to support your main thesis rather than presenting an opposing viewpoint. Referencing and cohesive devices such as 'Subsequenty' and 'Funding throgh' occasionally create minor disruptions in the logical flow. To improve, you should ensure that cohesive devices accurately reflect the logical relationship between ideas and that referencing pronouns clearly link to their intended antecedents.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, successfully conveying your meaning regarding research funding. You attempt less common vocabulary items such as 'characterization techniques', 'resilience', and 'revolutionizing'. However, there are notable word choice, spelling, and word form errors that occasionally surface, such as 'considerable about of money' instead of 'amount', 'conducing' instead of 'conducting', 'boast' instead of 'boost', 'carriying' instead of 'carrying', 'weathly' instead of 'wealthy', 'throgh' instead of 'through', 'faciliating' instead of 'facilitating', 'scarce of fancy powerfull equipment' instead of 'scarcity', and 'suffice funding' instead of 'sufficient funding'. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict your score. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision, improve spelling accuracy, and demonstrate better control over word collocations and forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional clauses ('If the wealthy demographic... come a step forward... researchers could be able...') and relative clauses. However, there are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('if the research are carried', 'techniques which requires'), missing articles ('in pursuing their work', 'in field of STEM'), incorrect prepositional usage ('funding in several sources' or missing prepositions), and structural slips such as 'If the weathly demographic... come a step forward'. These errors occur regularly alongside error-free sentences, representing a typical profile for this level. To move up, you need to increase the proportion of error-free sentences by carefully checking subject-verb agreements, article usage, and prepositions within complex grammatical patterns.
