Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. Your position on whether research should be carried out by private companies, individuals, or the government is somewhat unclear because the writing tends to drift between different ideas without fully taking a firm stand. Furthermore, your ideas are limited and under-developed, relying heavily on repetitive statements about diseases, government rules, and companies doing fraud. To reach a higher level, you need to clearly state your main position in the introduction, maintain that perspective throughout the essay, and extend your arguments with detailed explanations and concrete examples rather than general assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation to your writing, but it lacks a clear overall progression from beginning to end. While you have attempted to divide your thoughts into paragraphs, the flow between ideas is often hindered by repetitive phrasing, such as constantly repeating 'medical research projects' and 'private companies'. Additionally, your use of cohesive devices is inadequate or inaccurate; words like 'So', 'But', and 'For this of cases' are used mechanically and repetitively rather than to create smooth, logical links between sentences. To improve, you should focus on varying your transitions and ensuring that each paragraph moves the argument forward progressively.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. Throughout the response, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling—such as spelling 'research' as 'resarch' multiple times, using 'disease' instead of the plural 'diseases', and writing 'makes fraud' instead of 'commits fraud'. These errors and the heavy repetition of basic vocabulary cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to build a broader and more precise vocabulary, correctly use word forms and collocations, and eliminate spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your grammar displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by basic conjunctions. Attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, and sentence construction—such as 'In this type of cases making a question on why...' and 'the every medical resarch which is run by private companies is under control by the governments'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty and confusion for the reader. To progress, you need to practice forming accurate complex sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as pluralisation, articles, and prepositions.
