Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both private companies and government, and your position appears to favour a role for each: private firms contribute resources and expertise, while government should establish research centres and support researchers. These are relevant points, but the response only partially answers the choice in the question. It does not clearly explain whether research should be led by companies, individuals, or government, and the conclusion calls for “some organizations” without resolving that position. Several claims, such as private companies serving humanity and government neglecting research, are asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation. State your preferred model clearly, then develop two reasons and illustrate at least one with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so there is some organisation. The second body paragraph focuses on government’s shortcomings and possible actions, which gives it a recognisable purpose. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from private organisations to medicine costs and then to their contributions without a clear sequence, while the relationship between the two sides is not explicitly explained. Linking phrases such as “In recent years” and “To conclude” help signal stages, but connections are often mechanical or unclear, and ideas within sentences are crowded together. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and connect the private and public roles explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “fatal diseases,” “well-qualified researchers,” “modern equipment” and “research centers.” However, the range is limited and many word choices or spellings are inaccurate, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to identify. Examples include “confidential organization” for private companies, “medicinal sactors,” “medical shartages” and “friendly ecosystem.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “the ratio of fatal diseases have been reached to drastic peak.” These errors are noticeable and can impede the reader’s understanding. Build a reliable set of topic-specific terms and check collocations and spelling; prefer clear expressions such as “private-sector companies,” “shortages of medical services” and “a sharp rise in disease rates.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including sentences with reasons and clauses, but the range is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors occur frequently in verb agreement and forms: “government also play,” “the ratio … have been reached,” and “researchers goes.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic, as in “It is the fact that” and “To conclude that,” while punctuation and spacing errors make several sentences harder to read. These patterns sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during revision, for example: “The government should establish research centres and hire qualified researchers.”
