Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modren world, mostly medical research tasks are take place with the financial help of personal people's organizations. From my perspective, they should be carried out by the governments or individuals with the support of the governments beacuse it creates jobs and gives opportunity to the young people.

On the one hand, recently medical researches carried out by individual's private companies. This is not a good a development. The main reason why it is not good a thing is that firstly private companies paid for researches and when they get final results they get double amount of money from the governments for giving the results of the projects. Moreover, they sale the new medicine or vaccine discover by the projects in very huge amount. For example, Carona virus vaccine discovered by the private companies and these companies sell the formula of the vaccine to the governments by taking high amount of money.

I believe that all these researches should be carried out by the governments because it is benefical in many ways. The amount of money governments give to the personal companies should spend on the building new labs and give opportunities to youngs. In this way, they get good results because young children have more energy to work more or late night. It also produces job opportunities. When governments build more labs more workers are require for doing work.

To conclude, taking everything into consideration, Todays mostly medical researche assigments paid by the private companies and it is negative developments. Governments should do these researches for giving jobs opportunities to

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear preference for government-led research, stating that it can create jobs and opportunities for young people, and you include a relevant example involving COVID-19 vaccines. However, the task asks you to consider whether research should be carried out by private companies, individuals, or government, and the response mainly criticises private companies before supporting government involvement. The role of individuals is not explained, and the reasons for government research are only briefly developed. The claim that companies receive money from governments and sell medicines at very high prices needs clearer explanation or evidence. To strengthen the response, address all three options and develop each main reason with a specific, logically explained example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about private companies, a paragraph supporting government research, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the conclusion ends abruptly without completing the final idea. Some links are mechanical, while references such as “these researches” and “they” do not always make the intended meaning precise. The first body paragraph also moves from company funding to government payments and medicine prices without clearly showing how these points connect. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each supporting detail explicitly to your main claim, and finish with a complete summary of your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “medical research,” “vaccine,” “governments,” “labs,” and “job opportunities,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “personal people's organizations,” “double amount of money,” and “in very huge amount.” Spelling errors, including “modren,” “beacuse,” and “benefical,” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions are repeated, particularly “governments” and “researches.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing funding and public health, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, use “private-sector organisations,” “a substantial payment,” and “at a high price” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause beginning “The main reason why…” and a conditional structure with “When governments build more labs…”. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “research tasks are take place,” “private companies paid for researches,” and “the amount of money governments give … should spend,” which show problems with verb forms and sentence construction. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “more workers are require” and “it is not a good a development.” The final sentence is incomplete, which further affects clarity. Practise forming complete clauses, controlling present and past verb forms, and checking subject–verb agreement and articles before submitting.
