Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent times, significant amounts for numerous medical research projects are contributed by private companies. In my opinion, the goverment should fund for such medical projects in order to ensure priority to public health rather than financial profits.

To begin with, it is evident that private pharmaceutical companies tremendously funding to various projects aiming to the discovery of medicines for critical healthbissues. Moreover, such practices have a profound impact on the development of such researches. A best example for this is during COVID-19 outbreak, private companies took initiatives to bring up technologicial innovation which are inevitable for the production of preventive medicine. In addition to infrastructure facilities and funding for health care servants are provided by certain private initiatives during crticial circumstances. Despite, the major disadvantage is te benefits of mediacl research project are hard to afford for a marginal society which leads to inequalty. This acclerates the spread of disease and inclination in rate of mortality.

On the other hand, government should be te prime authority of medical research and supply of medicine in order to ensure ethical oversight, objectivity and equality availability among the people. It is seen that heath care under the supervision of the government enables the channeling of medicine and health care benefits to the needed individuals. For instance, recently government put forward a new legislation to provide health insurance to those who cannot afford signifiacnt amounts. This scheme also equalize treatment facilities and provide medicines in affordable price.Furthermore, national health care programmes provide critical economic benefits through proper channel.

In conclusion, eventhough private companies are contributing in the medical sectors considerably, I would argue that the government should be the prime authority to mange the research projects for maintaining the public health instaed of aiming economic benefits

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you argue that government should lead medical research so public health takes priority over profit. You address the role of private companies as well as government, and the COVID-19 example gives relevant support for private-sector contributions. The discussion of affordability and unequal access also supports your view. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the claim that unequal access accelerates disease spread and mortality would benefit from a clearer causal explanation, and the government insurance example is not specific enough to show how it supports research oversight. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a precise example and explain how it leads to your conclusion. The response already shows a relevant, sustained position, but some ideas need fuller development and clarification.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on private companies, a paragraph supporting government leadership, and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Despite, the major disadvantage” does not clearly connect the preceding benefits to the contrast, and the relationship between unequal access and mortality needs a more explicit link. Some ideas in the private-company paragraph also move quickly from research funding to healthcare infrastructure. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between ideas, and organise each body paragraph around one central point with explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “ethical oversight,” “financial profits,” “preventive medicine,” and “national health care programmes.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “significant amounts for” is awkward, “healthbissues” and “te” appear to be typing or spelling errors, and “equalize treatment facilities” does not express the intended idea naturally. Phrases such as “health care servants” and “inclination in rate of mortality” are also imprecise. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships for this topic and proofreading spelling and word forms. More precise phrasing would make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a purpose clause in “in order to ensure” and a relative clause in “those who cannot afford.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, grammatical control is uneven, particularly in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “private pharmaceutical companies tremendously funding” needs a finite verb, while “government should be te prime authority” is missing an article and contains a typing error. The sentence beginning “A best example for this is during COVID-19 outbreak” is also awkwardly constructed, and “This scheme also equalize” has a subject–verb agreement error. Review sentence patterns and check each clause for a subject and correctly formed verb. Greater accuracy in these areas would make the complex ideas clearer.
