Student answer (Band 5.5)

In these days, it is the fact that most of the private companies are funding for the applied research. There are numerous perspectives for conducting the research for the projects.

When we discourse about the medical research projects, there are a lot of factors that require a detailed research evidences for the argument articulation. It depends on the purpose, for what thae research is actually experimenting. Indeed, there is also a question, whether the research should be designed or evaluated by the private, individual or government entities?

Private research companies provide expertise according to the requirements of the consignee person. They also provide the professional comfort to the consumer. The consumers of the private companies pursue also because they have unconscious belief that their concerned company would generate the findings non-detrimental. But, there is also a fact that the manipulation can easily possible by private company research.

On the other hand, If the government funds for the medical projects, It can have two important reasons. First, they have to compile the data for the progress report to present for further proceeding in terms of funding. Second, they have to make a comparative analysis for the promotion of their performance. But we have to accept the fact the research funding by the government, is the mandate given by the public to fulfill their needs and demands for the public sector. So, the funding by the government have a different construct.

Furthermore, those individuals, who wish to fund medical projects, are the people, who want the "scientific society". They have a vision for the people to serve and educate with respect to their needs. In Pakistan, we have several examples. Mr. Baber Ali, who is an entrepreneur and a philanthropist, is a veteran with the wide vision. he funded anonymous research projects, especially medical projects to analyze the turmoils of the health and business sectors.

In a nutshell, It depends on the needs and demands, either the purpose of the company, individual and government is to discover, analyze or identify the problem or its purpose is to just craete a bulk of useless content for the financial purposes. I, definetly support that fact which entertains the need of human.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss private companies, government, and individuals, and the Pakistan example gives the response some relevant support. However, the task asks you to decide which source should fund medical research, and your position remains unclear: the conclusion says it “depends on the needs and demands” and supports whichever approach serves people, rather than choosing or clearly ranking the options. Several points are also difficult to interpret or insufficiently explained, such as the private companies’ “professional comfort” and the government’s reasons for compiling reports and comparing performance. To strengthen the response, state your preference directly in the introduction, explain why it is preferable, and develop each supporting reason with a clear example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to separate discussion of private companies, government, and individuals, followed by a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “Furthermore” help signal these sections. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear because the opening raises several broad questions without establishing the argument, and the paragraphs do not build towards a definite position. Some links are mechanical or confusing, particularly “But we have to accept the fact…” after the two government reasons. References such as “they” and “their” can also be unclear. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one focused claim, linking its evidence explicitly to your position, and using clearer references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related and formal vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “philanthropist,” “comparative analysis,” and “funding.” This gives you some ability to discuss the subject beyond basic terms. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “funding for the applied research,” “professional comfort to the consumer,” “non-detrimental,” and “a bulk of useless content.” There are also spelling errors such as “craete” and “definetly.” Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe research as being “funded by” an organisation and findings as “reliable” or “unbiased.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and relative clauses, as in “If the government funds for the medical projects…” and “those individuals, who wish to fund medical projects…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to understand. Examples include “there are a lot of factors that require a detailed research evidences,” “the manipulation can easily possible,” and “the funding by the government have a different construct.” These show problems with agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “If” and “It” mid-sentence. Build accuracy by using shorter, controlled sentences first, then check subject–verb agreement and complete verb patterns.
