Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, the research should be carried by many medical research projects are funded by mainly focused on only private companies compared to funding by individuals or government companies are not focused in medical research.

Firstly, the many medical research are project should be funded by private companies because they are main benefits of profit in medical products like tablets, capsules, syrups and injections.Furthermore, individual or government companies are basically rest in nowadays because government employeer are not medical research projects are funded. Therefore, private companies can make a significant contribution to healthcare. For example, pharmaceutical companies develop tabelts, vaccnies and injections that help people recover from illnesses.

Secondly, private companies are all of the research in market and funded large companies of medical research. Moreover, the government should also fund medical research because its main responsibility is to protect public health. Some private companies focused mainly on making profits, so they may not br interested in health researching diseases that affect poor people. However, the government can support research into these diseases and make medicines more affordable for everyone. For instance, govenrment hospitals and research centres can develop better treatments and provide healthcare services to people who cannot afford expensive medical .care.

In conclusion, although private companies have the money and technology needed for medical research, the government should also play a major role in funding and supervising. The best way to improve public health and ensure that everyone benefits from medical research.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a relevant view: private companies can contribute through investment and product development, while government should also fund and oversee research to protect public health. The examples of medicines and research into diseases affecting poorer people support this position. However, the opening is difficult to understand and does not clearly establish your answer, and the first body paragraph contains unclear claims such as “individual or government companies are basically rest.” The discussion of individuals is not developed, and several points about private companies are repeated rather than explained. The conclusion also ends with an incomplete sentence. The response is 9 words below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each part of the question more fully and make your position clear from the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument, and the government’s role is connected to the concern that private firms may prioritise profit. However, progression is weakened by unclear or repetitive statements, including “private companies are all of the research in market and funded large companies of medical research.” Some linking words do not clarify the relationship between ideas, and the shift from private funding to government funding in the second body paragraph is abrupt. The opening sentence also combines conflicting ideas, making the argument hard to follow. Use one clear main point per paragraph, explain how each example supports it, and ensure references and transitions make the logic explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “pharmaceutical companies,” “public health,” “medicines,” “treatments” and “affordable,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear: “main benefits of profit,” “basically rest,” and “all of the research in market” do not express precise ideas. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “tabelts,” “vaccnies” and “govenrment,” alongside inconsistent forms such as “health researching.” These issues sometimes make the reader work to infer your meaning. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing funding, research priorities and access to treatment, and proofread spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation of why government research matters and a contrast introduced by “although” in the conclusion. However, control is weak: the opening sentence has no clear grammatical structure, and “the many medical research are project should be funded” contains problems with articles, number and verb construction. Other examples include “government employeer are not medical research projects are funded,” where clauses are joined without a workable structure, and the final sentence, “The best way to improve public health and ensure that everyone benefits from medical research,” which is incomplete. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly spacing after commas and full stops. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then connect them with clear subordinate clauses.
