Student answer (Band 4.5)

Medical reserch project is very good invented projects, its very helpfull project for us. But Goverment gave all funds to the privated companies. My opinion is all these medicans who invented by private companies are very expansive, so government take action about this projects and hire a profactional medical researchers. It can help us to gave us good quality and cheap rate of medicans. For example, many goverment hospitals have not been all these resorces like good medicans escapt to private hoplitals. So medical researhers projects are funded by government to invent a new treatment of disases like cancer and suger. Private hospital use all these expancive medicans and charge its double. So government take action to provied all these medicans free of cast.Nowadays in our socite hateatack cases are very high ratio. Government hospital cant provide these tretments of hart patsants, and private hospitals can provided these treatments thats to much expancive. so medical researcher cant vaste these fund on private companies. Pay all funds into the goverments medical companies . its help for all these patsent who cant afoad all these expancive hospital bill. Government provide all these medican to people fee of cast. However replying solely on private funding presents significant risks regarding public interest . private companies are primarily by profit, which may lead them to prioritize research on chronic conditions rare diseases or medical needs in developing regions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position in favour of government funding and give relevant reasons, including the high cost of medicines and unequal access to treatment in government and private hospitals. The examples of cancer, diabetes and heart patients help connect your view to healthcare needs. However, the response only partially develops the task: it does not clearly compare government funding with research funded by individuals, and the final point about private companies prioritising profitable conditions is introduced but not explained. The response also contains 232 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to develop and support your ideas. Explain how public funding would improve research priorities and access, and address the alternatives directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a recognisable overall direction: it argues for government funding and gives examples of expensive private treatment. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the progression is difficult to follow. For instance, the discussion moves from medicine prices to hospital resources, then to cancer and diabetes, and later to heart treatment without clear links between these points. Connectors such as “So,” “For example,” and “However” are used, but they do not always show the relationship between ideas accurately; the final “However” point feels disconnected from the preceding argument. Organise the essay into an introduction, focused body paragraphs and a conclusion, with each paragraph developing one reason and clear references between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “medical researchers,” “treatment,” “chronic conditions” and “public interest,” and the final sentence attempts to express a more nuanced concern about private funding. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “medicans,” “expancive,” “disases” and “afoad.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “very good invented projects” and “charge its double.” These issues fit a response with basic, repetitive vocabulary and noticeable errors that sometimes strain communication. Build a reliable set of topic words and check spelling, word forms and collocations; for example, use “conduct medical research” rather than “invent projects.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, including a reason introduced by “so” and a contrast beginning “However.” Nevertheless, sentence structures are limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “Government gave all funds,” “Private hospital use,” and “private companies are primarily by profit”; these make the intended relationships unclear. Several sentences run together, as in the opening, while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise constructing accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although” and “which.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
