Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a relevant position—“researches should be carried by government”—and connect it to the emergence of new diseases and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not compare government funding with research by private companies or individuals, and the promised opinion “in the last” is never provided as a developed conclusion. The COVID example is also unclear and unsupported; saying there is “still…no solution” does not explain what research governments should fund or why. The response contains 118 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; 8 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from that count. Develop your position with reasons, relevant examples, and a conclusion that answers all parts of the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The opening signals an intention to organise the response, and “First of all” introduces the main point. However, the promised structure is not completed: the introduction says the opinion will come “in the last,” but there is no concluding paragraph, and the response ends abruptly while discussing countries seeking solutions. Ideas are not arranged into clear, developed stages, and the links between them are sometimes difficult to follow—for example, the move from government research to “if anyone can afford this then he may apply it” is not explained. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons and examples, and conclusion. Make each transition show how the next idea supports your argument rather than relying mainly on basic sequencing phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “diseases,” and “solution,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is basic and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “researches” is not the natural plural here, “carried by government” is awkward, and “stronger and progressive in every field” does not clearly express the intended idea. There are also spelling errors such as “reaserches,” alongside repeated general words such as “lots.” Build a more precise set of terms for discussing funding and scientific work, and check spelling and collocations. For example, use “research” as an uncountable noun and describe projects as “conducted” or “funded.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer clauses, as in “As during last few years we have to face covid,” but control is inconsistent and the range remains limited. Errors in sentence construction and agreement sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “every country want” needs a singular verb, while “the result of this million of people were dead” has a faulty sentence structure and unclear reference. The opening also joins sentences without a space after the full stop, and the final sentence lacks clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, then combine them using clauses such as “because” or “although.” Check verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries when proofreading.
