Student answer (Band 4.5)
In recent century, there are many medical research projects which are getting money from private companies. From my perspective, research should be taken by individuals, private compnies or government. Medical role is getting more crucial for all sorts of people from different age group. Firstlly, this research projects make the path clear for those medical students wwho are sincere with their work or studies. It will also create opportunities for more students to earn some experience. Beside this, some students belong to the disadvantage status families who are not earning more. And also those students who are studying through scholarships. There will be many hurdles for these sorts of student if they started to pay for their research projects. As a result, student will look for a job to bear their expenses. In this way, they can not concentrate in their studies which will result as increase in the number of doctors in our country. This will also be very bad for the government. Funding should be provided to more medical research projects so there will be more doctors in the upcoming future. In conclusion, after having above arguement it is pertinent to say that governments will also have to suffer as a consequences if they do not provide required necessities to the projects of medical research

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
Your response takes a position that government funding is needed, especially to support medical students who cannot afford research costs. The points about scholarships, financial hardship and students needing jobs are relevant, but the link between these issues and the question of who should conduct or fund research is not always clear. The prompt asks you to consider private companies, individuals and government; you mention all three in the opening but do not compare their roles or explain why one approach is preferable. The conclusion repeats the government-funding point without adding support. The response is also 33 words below the required minimum, leaving limited space to develop your reasons and provide a relevant example. Address each option directly and explain your position with specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic sequence from the opening position to reasons about students’ finances and then a concluding statement. Linking expressions such as “Firstlly,” “Beside this,” “As a result” and “In conclusion” help signal movement between points. However, the response is presented as one paragraph, so the main argument and conclusion are not clearly separated. Some connections are difficult to follow: the claim that students’ inability to fund research will “result as increase in the number of doctors” appears to contradict the surrounding point that this would harm the country. Several ideas are also listed without showing how they build on one another. Use separate paragraphs for your position, developed supporting reasons and conclusion, and make each cause-and-effect link explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “scholarships,” “disadvantage status families” and “government,” so the general subject is identifiable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “it is pertinent to say.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, including “research should be taken by,” “bear their expenses” and “projects of medical research.” Spelling errors such as “compnies,” “Firstlly,” “wwho” and “arguement” are noticeable and reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Build a more precise set of phrases for funding and conducting research, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if they started to pay for their research projects” and a result clause beginning “which will result…”. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “these research projects make” should use a plural demonstrative, while “student will look” needs a plural noun or an article. The sentence beginning “In this way” also has an unclear grammatical connection between students’ work, their studies and the stated outcome. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking singular and plural forms, then use shorter sentences where a longer structure becomes difficult to control.
