poor people can have access
follow rules & regulations> accountable for mistakes
less corruption
Nowadays, with the rapid development of society, funding medical research has become one of the most widely discussed issues around the world. While some people believe that private companies or individuals should finance medical research, I firmly believe that the government should take the primary responsibility for supporting these projects. This essay will explain why I hold this opinion.
To begin with, one significant reason why I believe that the government should fund medical research is that it can ensure equal access to healthcare for everyone.this is because goverment think for public welfare rather than making profits.as a result they are more likely to invest in research for serious diseases that affect a large number of people. Therefore, medical discoveries can benefit society as a whole instead of only wealthy individuals.
another reason is that government usually have more financial resources and provide long term funding for expensive research projects which allows scientist to carry on research with out worrying about the financial pressure. Therefore, they can develop more effective medicines, vaccines, and treatment methods that improve people's quality of life.
Furthermore, government-funded research is generally subject to strict regulations and ethical standards. This helps ensure that research is conducted safely, transparently, and in the public interest. As a result, people are more likely to trust new medical treatments and scientific discoveries.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the government should play the leading role in funding medical research because it prioritizes public health, provides stable financial support, and ensures that research is conducted ethically for the benefit of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear throughout: you argue that government should take the leading role, and you give relevant reasons concerning equal access, long-term funding, and ethical oversight. The explanation that public funding can support research into diseases affecting many people is particularly relevant. However, the reasons are not developed equally: the point about stable funding is asserted, but no specific example or further explanation shows how this would improve research outcomes. The opening notes about poor people, accountability, and corruption are not integrated into the essay, so their relevance is unclear. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a concrete example and explain why it supports government leadership over private or individual funding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for supporting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Therefore” and “As a result.” The brief notes at the beginning are disconnected from the main essay, and the transition from the first reason to the next could be smoother. Capitalisation and spacing after sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, which interrupts the presentation. For stronger cohesion, integrate all introductory notes into the relevant body paragraphs and use clearer references or varied transitions to show how each point develops.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “public welfare,” “financial resources,” “ethical standards,” and “quality of life.” These expressions help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, some word-choice and spelling problems, such as “g goverment” (intended as “government”), “carry on research,” and “treatment methods,” which sound less natural or precise in context. The phrase “fund medical research” is repeated often, and some vocabulary remains general rather than specific. To improve, check spelling carefully, learn common academic collocations, and choose more precise terms—for example, describe research as being “conducted” and funding as “sustained” or “long-term.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause in “because it prioritizes public health” and a relative clause in “which allows scientist to carry on research.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical and punctuation errors remain. For example, “government usually have” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “everyone.this is because” needs a sentence boundary and appropriate capitalisation. In “which allows scientist,” the noun should be plural, and the sentence structure would be clearer if the clause referred explicitly to the funding. Review agreement, articles and plurals, and proofread punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make the argument easier to read.
