Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear opinion: research should be carried out by the government rather than private companies or individuals. You also offer relevant reasons, including public safety, standards and the possibility that private organisations prioritise profit. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: these points are asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example, and the comparison with government research is not developed. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough detail to fully answer the question. To strengthen your response, explain how government oversight protects patients and add a relevant example, such as regulation of clinical trials.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The reader can identify your main position and follow a basic contrast between government research and research funded by private companies or individuals. Words such as “Because” and “Although” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the response is presented as one continuous block, and the points are not arranged into a clear introduction, developed body paragraphs and conclusion. Several claims repeat the same concern about private organisations not working properly, while the final phrase, “Government uses funds,” is unfinished and leaves the ending unclear. Use separate paragraphs, give each one a distinct purpose, and connect each reason to an explanation or example so the progression is easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “researchers,” “standards,” “projects” and “funds,” which makes your general subject clear. However, the range is basic and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “Government” and “researches.” Spelling errors such as “fundes,” “benifits,” “expences” and “dangeorous” make the writing less clear and reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also imprecise, for example “do their teams” and “make more benefits.” Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing research, funding and oversight, and check spelling carefully. For instance, “conduct research” and “prioritise profit” express your intended ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Your response mainly uses short, simple statements, with an attempt at a subordinate clause in “if these researches are not doing properly.” This shows some effort to connect ideas, but the range of sentence structures remains very limited. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction are frequent: “these researches carried by Government” needs a passive verb, while “Government take serious actions” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The opening also lacks a complete grammatical structure, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise forming accurate present-simple and passive sentences, such as “The government conducts research” and “Research is monitored by government agencies,” before combining them into longer sentences.
