Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued by many people that in the modern era, numerous research which are related with medical field are funded by private companies. I completely disagree with this statement for several reasons such as they have not enough money to raise fund and govenment also need help by private comapines. I will discuss this point in the following paragraphs.
The most compelling reason for believing this is that private foundations do not have a much money which they can use on medical research. If they want to start a project on anything, they can require a permission from goverment athorties ares weell as government can also provide a enough funds. For example, during a covid pendamic many private compenies try to find the medicines for releasing from serious desease. However they cannot complete this project without taking helping government.
Furthermore, private enterprises also play a wider role in researching medicines. Private orgnisation provide many facalities such as scientites and neseccary equipments witch are very coatly. Although govenment play a vital role in research, private enterprises also very important for find a new medicines. For example, if government have suffisent funds to start research while private companies have better equipment thety can get better result.
In addition to this, individual scientists can contribute innovative ideas. When independent research work on research, they can give their best to find result without any intruption. To examplifiy, thomous is very good scienties, howvevr they have not money to create medicine. When government give enough money to him they introduce a medicin which arwe usefulin heart-deseases.
In conclusion, i believe that government, private orgnisation and individuals all play a significant role in medical research because they can get good inovation working together.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view in the conclusion: government, private organisations and individuals should all contribute. The response also offers relevant points about funding, equipment and scientists’ ideas, with examples intended to illustrate these roles. However, the opening says you “completely disagree” with research being funded by private companies, while the body later argues that private enterprises are important; this makes your position difficult to follow. The task asks you to choose which source or sources should carry out research, but the discussion does not clearly compare their responsibilities or explain why a shared approach is preferable. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, credible example, and keep your position consistent from introduction to conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for government funding, private-sector resources and individual scientists, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “In addition to this” help signal new points. However, the overall progression is weakened by the shift from “I completely disagree” to the conclusion that all three groups should work together. Some connections between claims and examples are also unclear: the COVID example does not clearly show what government assistance enabled, and the Thomas example is difficult to follow. Improve cohesion by stating one consistent position, making each paragraph develop a distinct part of it, and using clear references to show how each example supports its point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “medical research,” “private enterprises,” “innovative ideas” and “necessary equipment.” These choices show an effort to discuss funding, facilities and scientific work. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “researching medicines,” “find a new medicines” and “without taking helping government.” Several key terms are also repeated, particularly “government,” “research” and “private companies.” Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully; precise expressions such as “conduct medical research” and “receive government funding” would make your meaning clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If they want to start a project…” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” This shows some willingness to vary sentence forms. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction can make meaning hard to follow. For example, “private enterprises also very important” lacks a verb, while “if government have sufficient funds” has an agreement problem. The sentence beginning “When independent research work on research” is also structurally unclear. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking articles and agreement in each sentence.
