Student answer (Band 5.5)

many biomedical research plan are sponsored to private companies, while some believe that these projects should be carried to government companies. in my opinion, i think that the medical assignment should be carried to both companies, because both are essential for nation.

first argument is that when non public companies start any project of medical research they invest their most money in project, because they should be succeeded in their project. thus when they spend their money in clinical research, then medical treatment is very expensive and poor people do not effordable this treatment. other is that people get job and earn more money so it is benefit for society. for instance, when people go to the public center and get a good treatment and do not face any problems.

second argument is that when health research established by the government then government invest their money on project for better facilities to the people. furthermore, the government do not only spend their money on project they also spend their money to people and gave better faclities. another is that the government also develop more jobs Opportunities for individuals and also gave money more when any employ resign their jobs. for example, when citizens get collect jobs to government the main benefit is that their job is parmanent.

in short, public companies launched project and spend more money on the search, other is government spend money for their individuals benefit. in my opinion, i completely prefer both companies because both are good work for their people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for shared responsibility, stating that research should be carried out by “both companies,” and you discuss potential roles for private organisations and government. However, the response only partly answers the choice in the prompt: it does not consider individuals, and the reasons often shift from funding research to general benefits such as employment and permanent jobs. The private-sector point about expensive treatment is relevant, but the example about visiting a public centre does not clearly support it. The government paragraph also needs a direct explanation of how public funding improves medical research or access to treatment. Develop fewer, more relevant reasons and support each with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “first argument,” “second argument” and “in short” make the intended structure visible. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several points are joined without a clear relationship. For example, the private-company paragraph moves from investment to expensive treatment, then employment, and then public-centre treatment. The government paragraph similarly combines facilities, jobs and resignation benefits. Some linking words, including “other” and “furthermore,” do not clearly show how the next idea connects. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and use clear references and transitions to connect supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “biomedical research,” “clinical research,” “medical treatment” and “government,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “medical assignment,” “carried to government companies,” “do not effordable this treatment” and “get collect jobs.” Repetition of “spend their money,” “people” and “project” also limits precision. Spelling and word forms such as “parmanent,” “faclities” and “succeeded” further affect clarity. Build a small set of accurate phrases for discussing research funding, affordability and public access, and check that each verb and noun naturally fits its context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when” and “while.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand the message. For example, “many biomedical research plan are sponsored” has a number-agreement problem, while “the government do not only spend” and “government invest” show inconsistent agreement. The opening also begins with lowercase “many” and “in my opinion,” and several sentences are joined with commas where a full stop or conjunction is needed. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses before adding more complexity.
