Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You give a clear preference in the conclusion, stating that funding private companies is beneficial, and you attempt to discuss both companies and government. However, the response only partially addresses the question: it asks who should carry out or fund research, but the essay does not clearly compare the roles of private companies, individuals, and government. Several points are unclear or unsupported, such as the claim that companies “take great care of human health because they pay funds to private companies.” The example about free study resources shifts away from medical research. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits the opportunity to explain and support your position. Develop relevant reasons and examples focused directly on medical research and the different possible funders.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response has an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the essay. Some linking expressions, including “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion,” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because the main point changes or remains unclear within paragraphs. The phrase “On the one hand” is used twice, but the second paragraph does not clearly present a contrasting side, and there is no corresponding “on the other hand” structure. Connections between funding, medical services, and free education are also not explained. To improve, give each paragraph one clear purpose, order supporting points logically, and use linking phrases only when they accurately show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, such as “medical research projects,” “private companies,” “government,” and “medical services,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “crucial role” and “distinct advantages.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated references to “paying funds” and “medical projects.” Some word combinations make the intended meaning difficult to understand, for example “making a balance approach with government” and “companies gain their money through funds.” There are also spelling errors, such as “sabsequent” and “benefical.” Aim to use precise topic vocabulary and natural collocations, and check spelling carefully. The suggestions below offer more suitable alternatives for some of your wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, using connectors such as “While,” “because,” and “Moreover.” Some basic sentence meanings can be understood, but errors in agreement, sentence construction, and grammatical forms occur throughout. For example, “medical research projects plays” has a plural subject with a singular verb, while “medical projects shapes” repeats this agreement problem. The opening fragment, “While medical research brings distinct advantages or making a balance approach with government,” does not form a complete, clear sentence. Other patterns, such as “for gain their knowledge” and “learn study free,” are also grammatically incomplete. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check that each sentence has a complete main clause.
