Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, an increasing number of medical research progjects are carried out by private organizations rather than public or authority. I strgonly believe that these kinds of research is mainly the responsibility of government to be carried out and then the priavte companies.

To commence with, the government is need to mainly focus of medical research projects because projects related to medical area is often very complicated and required highly skillful professional. Therefore, the authority probably have a wide range of professional in different health sectors to conduct such kinds of complicated medical research and to sovle real world challenges. Addionally, the medical projects require a vast amount of money to carried out cutting edge research project in various sector of health. For instance, finding out brain tumor in human brain require both expert doctors and analyst as well as a considerably amount of capital. Hence, to coduct such types of research project require government support to improve the health sector a nation.

Subsequently, some private companies are also requried to carried medical projects because they have sufficient funds for enhancing the health area. To elaborate further, some private organization have a didcated funds to conduct new research to invent updated drogs or sample for a specific disease to only help of public but also to generate a considerable amount of money. Furthermore, some private companies carried out such types of project to build trust and positive view point across multiple countries, As a result, they expend their business to the international level because of investing a sufficient amount in medial research project. To cite an example, during COVID 19 many pharmacutical companies build trust in many countries due the invention of drogs which was work against this disease.

In conclusion, conducting medical research projects is the major responsibility of the government because of fund availability, expert medial professional. While the private companies are the second responsible because they have enough budget for new research and have good reputation for developing new drogs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you consider medical research primarily a government responsibility, while allowing a supporting role for private companies. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including public funding and specialist expertise, as well as companies’ investment and commercial incentives. The brain-tumour example and reference to COVID-19 help make the discussion concrete. This is a solid response to the task, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, explain more precisely why government oversight or public funding is especially important, and develop how commercial motives might affect research priorities. The conclusion restates your view, though it could draw together the reasons more clearly. More balanced development would make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for government and private companies, and a conclusion. The progression from your main position to supporting reasons is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and several sentences are joined by “Therefore,” “Hence,” or “As a result” without making the precise relationship between ideas clear. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from research funding to reputation and international expansion. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the links between each claim and its consequence more explicit. This would strengthen the flow and make paragraph development feel more unified.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “health sectors,” “capital,” “pharmaceutical companies,” and “COVID 19,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “cutting edge research” and “generate a considerable amount of money.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “progjects,” “strgonly,” “drogs,” and “medial.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “build trust” in this context and “updated drugs.” These issues limit precision and sometimes make the reader pause. Check spelling carefully and learn common academic combinations, such as “conduct research,” “develop new treatments,” and “gain public confidence.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures and clauses introduced by “because” and “to elaborate further.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors occur in several sentence patterns. For example, “the government is need to mainly focus” has an incorrect verb construction, while “projects related to medical area is” has agreement and article problems. In “finding out brain tumor … require,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “which was work against this disease” has an incorrect verb form. Work on subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns after modal or infinitive forms. Editing each sentence for one main grammatical issue would improve accuracy while preserving your range.
