Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, A significant number of medical research projects are getting funds by many private companies. In my opinion, i think that government should carry the research funds as it can give the new vaccines to the whole public community across the country.
Firstly, Medical and health related research centers will become costly and general public may can not reach those facilities and data due to it is provided by private companies or a group of individuals. While private companies and public may sell those medicines and newly invented vaccines which is effective for some various health diseases outside the country for their charity refund or for their own profit. For example, if medical researchers invent some new medicines succesfully then the majority of the project may sell those kits for high demand. As a result, not all people will get those vaccines because of financial crisis or other restrictions.
Secondly, Government have adequate funds for such projects to give also it may distribute those kits to the genral public at a low cost.another factor is that government will be more trustworthy than private institutions. For example, Government always try to enhance the laws and regulation and also trty to prevent those elements which are detrimental for uss. Thus, when some new vaccines or medicine will launch, it will be publicised to the people as fast as possible like the corona virus disease.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that research should handover to the government as they have sufficient fund. Also public will not be hampered or die if any new virus arrives in future not only for wealthy people but also for poor families.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you argue that governments should fund and conduct medical research, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons. The concern that private ownership could make treatments unaffordable is illustrated by the example of medicines being sold at high prices; you also explain that public funding could support wider, lower-cost distribution. This addresses the main question, and the conclusion restates your view. However, the discussion of individuals as a possible funder is not developed, and some claims—such as governments being more trustworthy or distributing vaccines quickly—need clearer explanation or a specific example. The response therefore has relevant support, but some ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion reinforces your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. The progression within paragraphs is generally understandable, particularly from the risk of high prices to unequal access. However, some links are mechanical, and the sentence beginning “While private companies…” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point. The relationship between government funding, trust, and rapid vaccine distribution could also be made more explicit. Use clearer sentence boundaries and refer back to ideas precisely so that cohesion feels more natural and less dependent on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “vaccines,” “financial crisis,” “laws and regulation,” and “detrimental,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “adequate funds” and “high demand.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “getting funds by” would be more naturally expressed as “funded by,” “charity refund” does not convey a clear meaning, and “research should handover to the government” is not idiomatic. Spelling errors such as “succesfully,” “genral,” and “trty” also reduce accuracy. Build a reliable range of collocations for funding, access, and distribution, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if medical researchers invent…” and a reason clause with “as.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “government have adequate funds,” where subject–verb agreement is faulty, and “the majority of the project may sell,” where the sentence structure does not clearly identify who is selling the medicines. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “Government should carry the research funds” and the run-on after “individuals.” Practise building accurate complex sentences, then check agreement, tense, and punctuation before adding further clauses.
