Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's rapidly evolving world, medicine has become a cruicia part of our lives. Some people firmly believe that due to trust issues medical recearch should be carried out by the government , but I would argue that recearch carried out by private companies impliecs a positive impact because of better budget and lab facilities and make this approach considerably more beneficial.
Some people argue that medical recearches must be carried out by the government as they do not want to trust any kind of private compaines. It can be explicit from the example that they have the argument that private companies always make the medicines less effective for the increment of their sales . Consequently, the sales become higher but the medicine become less effective. But, if something like that happens the government can take action on the company. So, this approach is far less convenient.
I would argue that, the private companies are the best in medical recearch. As a a result of that the burden on the government reduces considerabally that helps government to focus on other aspects of socities. Moreover, these centers have clean laborateries and advanced medical facilites that is under the survellence of the government . These medical facilities have trained staffs that is professional in their work areas. It can be clear from the view that government allows companies to install the facilities after passing their strict safety criterias , as a result medicine comes from complete recearch and with the efforts of trained professional so the medicine becomes effective in its use.
In contrast, I strongly believe that the medical facilities must be private and the government must enquire these facilities , so the governmnent should look over the other aspects of the societies for the development of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position in favour of private companies and give relevant reasons, including their budgets, laboratory facilities and trained staff. You also acknowledge concerns that companies might reduce medicine effectiveness to increase sales, then suggest government oversight. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that private research reduces the government’s burden is not explained with a specific example, and the concern about commercial motives is dismissed rather than weighed in depth. The final paragraph repeats your position instead of adding a distinct reason or drawing the argument together. To strengthen the response, explain how private funding improves research outcomes and how regulation can prevent conflicts of interest, using a concrete example where possible.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting concerns about private companies, a paragraph supporting them, and a concluding position. Basic linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Consequently,” and “In contrast” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the conclusion introduces the idea that government should “look over the other aspects” without clearly connecting it to the preceding argument, and “In contrast” does not accurately introduce a restatement of your own view. Some points are repeated, particularly the claim that private facilities produce effective medicine, while references such as “this approach” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one clear point and use transitions that accurately show whether you are adding, contrasting or concluding.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research,” “advanced medical facilities,” “trained staff” and “safety criteria,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “cruicia,” “recearch,” “impliecs,” “laborateries” and “survellence”; repeated misspellings of key terms are especially noticeable. Phrases such as “the medicine become less effective” and “the best in medical research” are also imprecise or awkward. Build a reliable set of correctly spelled topic vocabulary and check collocations, for example, “conduct research,” “allocate funding” and “subject facilities to government oversight.” This would make your argument more precise and easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if something like that happens the government can take action” and a reason clause beginning “as they do not want to trust.” These attempts show some variety, but errors recur in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “the medicine become less effective” needs subject–verb agreement, and “facilities that is under the surveillance” should use a plural verb to agree with “facilities.” The sentence beginning “As a result of that” is awkwardly connected to the following clause, and several long sentences combine ideas without clear punctuation. Review agreement, articles and clause boundaries, then edit each sentence to ensure that its subject and verb match and that complex ideas are clearly joined.
