Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern era, private companies give money in order to complete significant number of medical research projects. According to my perspective, that government and private firm should give fund for medical advancements. I will discuss about it in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, the first and the foremost reason is that, if government invest money for new medical project than new treatments will introduce, which are beneficial for their citizens. Not only this but also, it increases the life expectancy. To explain it, some patients die because of treatment is unavailable. However, regime invest money than it will helps people to live for long time. For example, majority of people die because they do not get proper treatments. So it is good idea if private company funded medical field.
Furthermore, it boosts the economy growth of a nation. Because, if private compines get success in their experiment than othe nations also invest money for this medical treatment. As a reasult, money can generate from this, and spend from other things like transportation, education. Moreover, it motivates other companis to introduce new health care treatments so that everyone can obtain best treatment. Thus, the cost of treatment will decrease and quality of treatment will increase. To illustate, when a lot of companies funded by government than they do their best because of competition.
To conclude, medical projects should funded by private companies because it not only improve health care but also boost economy of nation. In addition, other countries also invest in advance medical treatments, which also help economy of a country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a position that both government and private firms should fund medical research, and you offer relevant reasons: improving access to treatment and supporting economic growth. However, the position becomes inconsistent in the conclusion, where you say projects should be funded by private companies, without explaining why government funding is no longer part of your view. The discussion also only partly answers the choice in the prompt: individuals are not considered, and the benefits of each funding source are not clearly compared. Examples such as patients dying without treatment are relevant but general, and the economic argument needs clearer explanation. Develop each reason with a specific example and maintain one clear position throughout to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with” and “Furthermore” help identify the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are linked mechanically or the relationship between them is unclear. For instance, the shift from government investment to the claim that private companies should fund the medical field is not explained. The economic paragraph moves from company success to investment by other nations and then to spending on transport and education without showing the connections clearly. Some linking phrases are also inaccurate or repetitive. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “life expectancy,” “treatments,” “economy” and “competition,” so the reader can understand the general subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “give fund,” “economy growth,” “money can generate from this” and “funded medical field.” Spelling errors such as “compines,” “reasult” and “illustate” are also noticeable. Aim to learn common word partnerships for this topic and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “allocate funding,” “economic growth” and “medical research” would help express your ideas naturally and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if government invest money…” and a contrastive construction beginning “Not only this but also…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “government invest” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it will helps” combines incompatible verb forms. In “new treatments will introduce,” the passive form is incomplete, and “medical projects should funded” also needs a passive auxiliary. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, and some sentence boundaries make the argument harder to follow. Practise accurate basic clauses and passive forms first, then build longer sentences from them.
