Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In your opinion, do you think that research should be carried by private companies, individuals or government?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Medical researchs has to be financially supported by private companies or individuals rather than governemnt athorities. As i believe that researches that performed by private institutions are more benificial than government sectors.
From the global view, there are several reasons for prefering private sectors as compare to government sectors, the first reason, it will be more faster than public sectors. For instance, goverment funding process are more time consuming than private ones. As a reult, they provide the responses more earlier with satisfying expeiences.
On the other hand, the another reason was if people choose goverment authorities for funding there are higher chances to face a rise in taxation to rase funding for those activities which can be a disadvantage of the general public but choosing bodies who are able to fund those activites because of the wealth profits they earn the capability it will be more benifical.
For example, there are many projects which have given better results if they performed by private sectors. Althogh it can be seen in healthcare and education sectors more as their are some private schools, colleges and hospitals are availabe.
There are some disadvantages of that which can be considerd,as the private bodies have the command of the researches it can be led that they use those medications and benifits for their consumption first and than they provide the chance to others.
In conclusion, i strongly believe that it should be funded by private sectors but with the involement of government, so they can not make the results unavailable for local public or they can not increase the price to made it hard for normal people because they can not affort that products at higher value.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear overall view: private organisations should fund research, with government involvement to protect public access. The reasons about faster funding and avoiding higher taxes are relevant, and you acknowledge a drawback—that private bodies may prioritise their own access or charge high prices. This addresses the main parts of the question. However, the comparison between private and government funding is not always fully explained, and the example about private schools, colleges and hospitals does not clearly demonstrate better medical-research results. Develop one specific research example and explain how it supports your position. Also clarify whether individuals, as well as companies, should fund research, since the prompt presents both as options.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure: an opening position, reasons, a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main points, and signposts such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” guide the reader. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “On the other hand, the another reason was” introduces a supporting reason rather than a contrasting point, and the long sentence about private bodies funding activities is difficult to follow. The example paragraph also shifts from research to education and healthcare without a clear connection. Use more precise transitions, keep each paragraph focused on one claim, and make references such as “those activities” and “that” unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “funding process,” “taxation,” “private bodies,” and “medications,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “researchs,” “more faster,” “responses more earlier,” and “wealth profits”; these are not natural or accurate expressions in context. Spelling errors such as “goverment,” “benifical,” and “affort” also recur. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing research funding, such as “allocate public funds,” “commercial interests,” and “make treatments affordable,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea about taxation and a concession about private control of research. However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “researches that performed by private institutions” needs a correctly formed passive clause, while “government funding process are” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “but choosing bodies who are able to fund” is also incomplete or poorly connected to the preceding clause. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense before adding extra clauses. More accurate control of these structures would make your argument easier to follow.
