Student answer (Band 5.0)

These days lots of medical research projects are funded by private organisation.Do these research should be done by private firms, individuals or by government. My views and opinion are discussed further.

In past few years medical reasearch feild has acchived ,numbers of new medical inventions in medicine and operations process. As there are so many reaserach firms who contineously works onnew and new medical project to make the medical feild more usefull and availabel to evryone easily.Well currently most of the medical research centers are owned and managed by private firms. As a result they gets the rights on their reasearch and and try to dominate the market by their choice. private firms try to bring monoploy so that they can control the pricing and deamnd supply, the other reason that maximum og medical research project are funnded by private firms is , medical projects requires large amount of funding and it is quite difficult of some individuals and government to fund , thats my most of the projects are funded by private firms and then they use their firm name on projects.

Well in my opinion government should also take some steps for this and should fund on such reasearch projects as it will be more easier nad helpfull of the people of the country ,because it is very difficult for any individuals to fund on medicals research as it requires huge amount to invest. But on the other hand government does not makes much efforts for such things while private frims are actively do the fundings.

Overall, Though many private firms are there who use to give funding for medical research projects ,but its and moral duty of government to take some insiative and do funding in such project research's

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give a position: you recognise that private firms currently fund much research, but argue that governments should also contribute. The point that research requires substantial funding is relevant, and you mention a possible concern about private firms controlling prices. However, the response does not clearly decide whether research should be carried out by companies, individuals, or government, and the government’s role is asserted more than explained. The claim that private firms create monopolies also needs a specific example or clearer reasoning. Develop your position by comparing the roles of these funders and explaining how public funding could improve access or affordability.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction to discussion of private funding, then your view and a concluding statement. Linking phrases such as “As a result,” “on the other hand,” and “Overall” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow: the discussion shifts from research advances to ownership, monopolies, and funding without clear steps. Some links are repetitive or awkward, and the conclusion largely repeats the claim that government should fund research rather than summarising a developed argument. Organise the body around distinct points—for example, private-sector investment and its risks, followed by the benefits of public funding—and use clear references between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research,” “funding,” “monopoly,” “pricing,” and “investment,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to understand, such as “reasearch,” “availabel,” and “deamnd supply.” Phrases such as “new and new medical project” and “fund on such research projects” are also unnatural or imprecise. Aim to learn accurate collocations for this topic, such as “conduct research,” “allocate public funds,” and “make treatments affordable.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms would make your argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “on the other hand.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “they gets the rights” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “government does not makes much efforts” combines an incorrect verb form with a number error. The opening also contains sentence fragments and unclear question structure. Practise building complete sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed supporting clause, then check agreement and verb forms before adding more complexity.
