Student answer (Band 5.0)

Acording to my point of view, the medical research is carried by goverment commpanies is good. But there is a little need of goverment to take a overlook on that research. If goverment look after the research centers they work properly. Because they know about that someone is look after them. Therefore, thre is a need of goverment to held a eye on the private companies. If they can not do that the owners and workers of companies have free hands and made problems in every part.in my oppinion their is a need to look or take control by goverment on medical companies.Because they made some illegal and dangerous drugs.Which are very dangerous for humman beings and animals. The waste material exerted by medical industeries pluted the air which can cause lung cancer some time and disease cause Astma. While the waste water exerted as waste can plute the water and have a great effect on the marine life. Some dangerous medicines are discovered by medical companies can cause sever heart attack and cancer. Therefore, it is very important to take a control of private companies by the goverment.Beacuse if goverment took a control than the companies work according to the goverment. They have no more time or such a providing things through which they made illegal things.Furthermore, if govrment have an eye on the companies for their proper work and maintain their value in the socity. In our country Pakistan there are many private companies which cannot work properly and made dangerous and effective drugs.

At the end the conclusion is that, their is very important too took a control by the goverment on companies for their proper functioning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position in favour of government oversight, and you give relevant reasons, including unsafe medicines and pollution affecting people, animals and marine life. The reference to Pakistan also provides a potentially useful example. However, the task asks whether research should be carried out by private companies, individuals or government, and your response mainly argues that government should monitor private companies. It does not clearly explain who should conduct the research or compare the roles of individuals and government. Several claims, such as companies having “free hands,” are asserted rather than explained or supported. State your preferred funding and research model directly, then develop two reasons with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable line of argument: government oversight is needed because private companies may produce harmful drugs or cause pollution. Linking expressions such as “Therefore” and “Furthermore” show attempts to connect ideas. However, the writing is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the position, supporting reasons and conclusion. Connections are also repetitive, and some sentences do not form clear logical links—for example, “Furthermore, if government have an eye on the companies…” is left without a complete main clause. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each main reason and the conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one point in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “illegal and dangerous drugs,” “waste material,” “marine life” and “proper functioning.” These choices help communicate your concerns about health and the environment. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “government,” “companies” and “dangerous.” Frequent spelling errors, including “goverment,” “industeries” and “socity,” make the writing less clear and reduce the accuracy of your vocabulary. Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “take a overlook” and “free hands.” Build a more precise range for discussing research, regulation and public safety, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas using subordinate clauses, as in “Because they know about that someone is look after them,” and conditional forms such as “If they can not do that.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur throughout: “If government look after” and “the companies work” need more accurate subject–verb forms, while “they made” does not fit the intended general meaning. Several fragments also interrupt the argument, including “Which are very dangerous…” and “Because they made…”. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops. Practise complete sentences, accurate present-tense forms and clear clause boundaries.
