Student answer (Band 5.0)
There are many ways by which the medical reasearch projects are funded . It can be a private company , goverment or individual. In my opinion the best way is that the medical reasearch projects should be funded by goverment not by private companies or any type of individual. The main reason is that the reasearch work of any type should be in under goverment . Because there are more sources at goverment level s compared to the private or indiidual.
Goverment has also more fund than private companies . The benifit of this researh under goverment is that it will be in knowledge of goverment and in case if there are some issues than it can be handled by goverment easily. If a person start a work on any research project individualy than it can not be handled by himself. So, there should be the goverments companies that fund for medical research pojects.
If projects are funded by private companies than the advantages of the research e awarded to the private compamy at private level but contrary to it if the projects are funded under the goverment than there will all award for the people at goverment level and many chances for the people who can not offord the cost of research projects . So, there are many benifits for the people if work done at goverment level .
Example is that if any person interested in research and have no source so he will approach project by goverment

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you believe governments should fund medical research, and you give relevant reasons, including public access to research benefits and the government’s ability to manage problems. However, the response addresses the alternatives only briefly. Private companies are discussed mainly in terms of who receives the benefits, while the role of individuals is not explored beyond the claim that one person may struggle to manage a project. The final example about a person approaching the government is also incomplete and does not show a specific outcome. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and add a concrete example, such as how public funding can support research into treatments that are not commercially profitable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: it introduces your view, gives reasons in the following paragraphs, and ends with an example. Some linking expressions, such as “The main reason” and “If projects are funded by private companies,” help signal the argument. However, progression is limited because several points repeat the idea that government funding benefits people, and the final example is not clearly connected to the preceding explanation. Some connections are also awkward, particularly “but contrary to it,” which makes the comparison harder to follow. Organise the body around distinct reasons, use clear comparisons between funding sources, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant terms, including “medical research projects,” “funded,” “private companies,” and “government,” so the general topic is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, with “government” and “research” appearing frequently, and several word choices or spellings make the message less clear. Examples include “the research work … should be in under government,” “the research e awarded,” and “approach project by government.” These phrases do not express the intended meaning naturally. Build a more precise range for discussing funding, access, and outcomes, and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make your argument easier to understand and sound more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and conditional structures, such as “If projects are funded by private companies…” and “If a person start a work…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and agreement occur often enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “If a person start” needs subject–verb agreement, while “there will all award for the people” is not a complete, well-formed construction. Several sentences also join ideas without clear grammatical links, as in “Because there are more sources at goverment level s compared to the private or indiidual.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because,” “although,” and “which.”
