Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's era , several medical research projects are totally funded by private firms. Yes, the research should be carried out by any of them. The actual thing that matter is how beneficial it is.

In my opinion every one should have a right to do research work. If any of private firm is working for the benefits of society ,they should be given a right to do work. For instance, in the Corona times every private company was working on a vaccine so that the virus should get eliminate from the society as soon as possible. In this whole scenerio every firm had only one motto "elimination of virus".

Meanwhile if everyone has a right to do research on any medical project. There should be some limitations too. State should regulize everything. For example, every firm should tell government about there plan and state can ask anything regarding this. Government should help companies to make a beneficial society. For instance , if we just looked out again in corona times governemt was helping firms to regulate the tests of patients as well as they were helping in sampling of everything. Meanwhile, state was providing controlled environment to perform every task. In this way government and private firms were working together on medical researches to help the society.

In conclusion , Private companies should perform research on every medical project but with the help of state. If everything is performed under controlled environment than it actually benefits the society and it will ultimate benfits humanity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support private companies conducting medical research, with government oversight, and you address the roles of both groups. The examples about vaccine development and government support during the coronavirus period are relevant. However, the prompt also asks whether individuals should carry out research, and this option is not meaningfully discussed. Some points are asserted rather than explained—for example, that every firm had “only one motto” and that government should “help companies” do beneficial work. Explain how oversight protects patients or ensures research serves public needs, and clarify whether individuals have a practical role. This would make the response more fully developed and balanced across the task’s options.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from supporting private research to adding government oversight is generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. “Meanwhile” is used repeatedly, including where a contrast is not intended, and “In this whole scenario” does not clearly connect the example to the claim. The second body paragraph also combines several ideas—regulation, testing, sampling and controlled conditions—without clearly separating their relationships. Use more precise links such as “In addition” or “For this reason,” and make each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “vaccine,” “regulate” and “controlled environment,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “benefits of society” and “elimination of virus.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “research on any medical project,” “perform research” and “beneficial society.” Spelling errors such as “scenerio,” “governemt” and “benfits” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable set of collocations for this topic and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the distinction between conducting research, funding it and regulating it.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including conditional forms such as “If any private firm is working…” and a relative clause in “the virus…as soon as possible.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the actual thing that matter” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the virus should get eliminate” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “if everyone has a right to do research…There should be some limitations too.” Aim to connect dependent clauses correctly and check agreement and verb forms. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the range already attempted.
