Student answer (Band 6.0)
Several medical researches are funded by the private companies than the government or other dedicated individuals. Private companies could be one of the most capable group who could carry out research and ends up successfully.
Overall, private companies have the capacity to conduct studies regarding medical matters, because of several reasons. One of the major reasons is the financial capacity that they have.
In comparison, government institutions and some individuals who wants to be involved in the research, also have the funds and the ability. However, there are several drawbacks that might be look into for them to be considered the most able group to do the research. One of the major disadvantages is the funds that are allocated for the certain projects of the government agencies. A lot of the budgets that are provided for them could be used illegally for some other matters, most specially personal interests.
Whereas, private companies has the advantage of having the complete facility, equipment, manpower and funds. One of the benefits is the faster result of the studies. Private companies are more rapid when it comes to producing the best outcome of the researches, and this might be because of the target to monopolize the market. Private companies would also be the top group who will be dedicated to succeed in the research, simply because of the commercialization revenues they will get after the research succeed.
In conclusion, private companies have the best advantage to carry out the research on the grounds that they they can accelerate the outcome of the research, and they have the drive to succeed due to the fact that they can monopolize and have the revenues they wanted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you favour private companies, and you give relevant reasons, especially their financial resources, facilities and incentive to earn revenue. You also compare them with government institutions and individuals, which helps address the alternatives in the question. However, the discussion is uneven: the case for private companies is developed more fully than the case for individuals, and the concern that public funds may be misused is asserted without an example or explanation. The claim that companies can “monopolize the market” also needs qualification, since it may be a risk rather than an unambiguously positive reason to fund research. Explain how commercial incentives can support research while addressing possible conflicts of interest, and develop each comparison with specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your preference, the body compares public and private funding, and the conclusion restates your view. Paragraphing generally helps the reader follow this progression. You also use signposts such as “In comparison,” “Whereas” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas; “Whereas” begins a paragraph that is not a complete contrast clause. The second paragraph is very brief and repeats the general claim rather than advancing the argument. Some references, such as “this” in “this might be because,” could identify the idea more precisely. Use transitions that match the logic and build each paragraph around a distinct, developed point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “financial capacity,” “facility,” “equipment,” “manpower,” “commercialization” and “revenues.” These choices make the subject clear, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “medical researches,” “dedicated individuals,” “the best outcome of the researches” and “the revenues they wanted.” Repetition of “research,” “private companies” and “success” also limits flexibility. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and precise distinctions—for example, refer to “medical research” as an uncountable noun and use “research findings” or “commercial returns” where appropriate. This would make the argument sound more controlled without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “whereas” and “simply because,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with subject–verb agreement, verb forms and articles. For example, “private companies has” should be “private companies have,” and “individuals who wants” should be “individuals who want.” In “might be look into,” the verb pattern is incorrect; use “might be considered.” The opening comparison, “funded by the private companies than,” also needs a clearer comparative structure. There are occasional punctuation and editing slips, including the repeated “they they” and the missing space after “research,” in the conclusion. Review agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence.
