Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays , it is common that in many countries that many medical research projects are funded by private companies .Which is not a good approach to such senstive issues in my opinion. Government should be properly involved with the experts of the feild to analyze and examine these researches. To make sure that noone can misuse this for profit or for their personal interest.
In todays world where we have to face new challenges of health everyday , the importance of research remains their. Without this we wont be able to solve the health problems . We have seen its importance in 2019 when covid-19 virus spread all over the world. Millions of people died just because their was no proper treatment or vaccination available for that virus. It was the research of medical science who founded the antidiote of covid which seemed impossible at some point.
But many people have tried to misuse this by promoting their specific products . Selling that on higher price . The publishing of researches which never happened just becuase they want to sell their product. So with the involvment of government things become more clearer and transparent and with the examination of experts of feild people will find easy to trust and use that medicine or product .
Another issue with testing is that even if the research is valid but their is a strong possibility that specific product/medicine can cause several allergic or health issues to people and these private companies dont mention them . So with the government and expert official involved there would ensure that everything is done under their supervision . With this people will be able to trust these researches and get benefit from them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear position: government should oversee medical research alongside experts, rather than leaving it to private companies. The discussion is relevant and addresses the choice in the prompt, with reasons including profit-driven promotion, unreliable research and undisclosed health risks. The COVID-19 example also helps explain why research matters. However, the response focuses almost entirely on government oversight and private companies; it does not meaningfully consider research carried out by individuals, nor explain how government and private funding or responsibility might work together. Some claims, such as millions dying because no treatment was available, are asserted rather than carefully supported. Develop the comparison between the options and explain your examples more precisely to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, followed by paragraphs on the value of research, misuse for profit and safety risks. This gives the reader a general sense of progression. However, the links between ideas are sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “So” and “With this,” and the final two body paragraphs overlap in their focus on government supervision and public trust. Some sentence boundaries also disrupt the flow: “Selling that on higher price” is left as a fragment, while the opening paragraph contains a sentence beginning “Which.” Use clearer topic sentences, combine related points, and make references such as “this” and “that” more specific. A conclusion summarising your position would also give the essay a stronger sense of completion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “medical research,” “vaccination,” “transparent,” “supervision” and “allergic or health issues.” These choices make your main concerns understandable, and you attempt some more specific language about research and medicine. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural expressions reduce control: “senstive,” “feild,” “antidiote,” and “founded the antidiote” are examples. Phrases such as “their specific products” and “higher price” are also vague or awkward in context. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise wording, such as describing companies as promoting their own products or selling medicines at inflated prices. Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your argument clearer and more credible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “even if the research is valid” and a reason clause beginning “just because.” The main message is generally recoverable, but control is limited and errors occur across sentence construction, agreement, tense and punctuation. For example, “Which is not a good approach” is an incomplete sentence, and “the research of medical science who founded” has an incorrect relative pronoun and verb construction. In “there would ensure,” the sentence lacks a clear grammatical subject; “their was” also shows an agreement error. Commas and full stops are often misplaced, creating fragments or run-on sentences. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check agreement, articles and punctuation.
