Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a position in favour of private funding, and the discussion of research helping doctors understand diseases is relevant. The COVID-19 example also gives the response a concrete illustration. However, the position is not sustained consistently: you initially support private companies, then say the work “is not possible without funds carried by government,” without explaining whether you favour government funding, private funding, or a partnership. The task asks you to compare who should carry out or fund research, but individuals and the relative roles of companies and government receive little consideration. Ideas such as economic benefits are introduced but not explained. The response is also 11 words below the required minimum, leaving limited space to develop the argument. State a clear position and support it with fuller comparisons and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic overall shape: an opening opinion, discussion of medical research and an attempted conclusion. The COVID-19 example follows the point about disease research, so the reader can see the intended connection. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into one paragraph, and the final section shifts from funding to disease prevention and national economic recognition without clear links. Connectors such as “but,” “For instance,” and “In short” are present, yet some relationships remain unclear; for example, the contrast between private companies and government funding is not resolved. The final sentence is incomplete (“Many countries consider it s”), which disrupts the ending. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “diseases,” “treatment,” “vaccination,” and “budget,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “international level.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the meaning harder to follow: “research on this department,” “own name,” and “future secure” are examples. Spelling errors such as “fiancial,” “treartment,” and “medicians” are noticeable, and “It als play” contains a misspelling. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “research in this field,” “build a reputation,” and “secure a healthier future.” Proofreading for spelling would also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as they provide financial help” and a conditional structure beginning “When we do not know the reason…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to understand. Examples include “I am totally agree,” “Many people do this by private companies,” and “Only one individual not carry a big project.” There are also problems with verb forms and agreement in “when number of people dead” and “they are infected by virus or bacteria,” as well as missing or incorrect articles and sentence boundaries. Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation. Shorter, controlled sentences would help make your argument clearer before you add complexity.
