Student answer (Band 5.0)

Today various research projects of medication are financially supported by private instituitions. So, i am completely agree with this point that individuals or Governments should carry out the research regarding medication, as it has a lot of benefits in present and even in future.

If anyone wanted to do a research but he is unable to afford the expense and in that case now private companies provide them money for it then there are several advantages of it. Like if someone show keen interest, then he discovered many new things like medicines and treatment of any disease. And this is for the betterment of patients. Saame like in case of cancer In return, Company also get benefit from it by making their name by advertisement.

I personally did survey on malaria in last year of my university, i saw the results that showed that this ailment was unknown initially many scientists tried but did not succeeded, then random persons did research on it, he tried to find out everything and discovered the disease in the beginning, then search what are the causes of it and after that he discovered the cure of that infection, Nowadays because of that all of us are able to get treatment with out any difficulty if indicated of this unfortunately.

In short, medical research is very crucial fot the progress of our country and for the human health. Because it does not depend that who carried out the research, it is noticeable that how it was carried out. So, everyone which has little knowledge of it have to find out new ways.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a position in the opening, saying individuals or governments should conduct medical research, and you give relevant reasons about funding, new treatments and patient benefit. The malaria survey example also attempts to support your view with personal experience. However, the response does not consistently answer the central choice in the question: it begins by supporting individuals or governments, then mainly discusses private companies providing money, without clearly explaining which group should carry out research or comparing their roles. Several claims, including the account of discovering malaria and its cure, are unclear or insufficiently explained. Develop a consistent position and support it with accurate, specific reasoning about the advantages and limitations of the options.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, a personal example and a conclusion. Some linking expressions, such as “So,” “In return” and “In short,” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow: the second paragraph shifts from private funding to individual discoveries and then company advertising, while the malaria example contains several events without clear sequencing. References such as “he” and “that” are not always clear, and connectors such as “Saame like” do not establish the intended relationship. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use clear time markers in the example, and make links between claims explicit rather than relying on loosely connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research,” “treatment,” “disease,” “cancer” and “malaria,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. For example, “research projects of medication,” “carry out the research regarding medication” and “did survey on malaria” are not natural expressions in this context. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “instituitions,” “Saame” and “fot.” Aim to use accurate, familiar academic phrases consistently before attempting more ambitious vocabulary. For instance, describe research as being “funded by private companies” and refer to “conducting a survey on malaria.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “If anyone wanted to do a research…” and a relative clause in “everyone which has little knowledge.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors make some passages difficult to interpret. Examples include “i am completely agree,” “someone show keen interest, then he discovered,” and “scientists tried but did not succeeded,” which show problems with verb forms and tense consistency. Articles, agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a research” and the long malaria sentence that runs through several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly controlled subordinate clause, then check verb forms and punctuation.
