Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private comapanies, I totalkly agree with this but i consider that the Medical research should be funded and overseen through a balanced patnership between government and the privat companies rather than funfing alone.
The government have the responsibilty of providing a good and more developed life style to citizen. Medical side have to come up with a new treatments new medical vaccination so government should have to fund for this, also governmnet can make new rules for checking for safe test result also stop companies from hiding the bad side effect of a product. Whereas big companies have large amount of money and modern technology. They can build labs and new medical test much faster. And the individuals like independent scientist and doctors have great ideas, but they have enough money or lab space on their own, so big companies and government can fund them.
From the personal experience, when a family member neede a urgent diagnostic test, or medical requirnment we saw a two side of healthcare. The local public hospital and the privat diagnostic centre, in public hospital they have doctors but have lack of new equipment and consume more time whereas on other side private hospitals or diagnostic centre provide best facilities with new equipments and much faster than the public sector.
In conclusion, Although private companies have great amount of money and new medical facilities as compare to government but government can provide a funding to a public hospitals so that they can also improve their medical treatment which can provide better treatment to people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear position: medical research should involve government and private companies, with individuals also supported. The response addresses the main options and offers relevant reasons, including public oversight to prevent companies hiding side effects and private-sector investment in laboratories and technology. The personal example comparing a public hospital with a private diagnostic centre adds support, although it illustrates differences in healthcare provision more directly than how research should be funded. The role of individual researchers is mentioned but not developed with a specific example or explanation of how their work would be selected and supported. To strengthen the response, explain how the proposed partnership would operate and connect each example more explicitly to research funding and public benefit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your position, the body presents reasons and an example, and the conclusion restates your view. Ideas generally progress from government responsibility to private-sector resources and then to individual researchers. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Whereas big companies…” is not smoothly connected to the preceding point, and “on other side” does not clearly signal the contrast between the two healthcare settings. The long second paragraph also combines several distinct ideas, while the conclusion focuses mainly on government funding for public hospitals rather than summarising the full partnership proposal. Use clearer transitions and divide or sequence the supporting points more deliberately.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “side effect,” “modern technology,” “diagnostic test,” and “equipment.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt more specific expressions such as “independent scientist” and “public sector.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “comapanies,” “patnership,” “medical vaccination,” and “large amount of money.” Some repeated general words, such as “new,” “good,” and “great,” limit precision. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common academic collocations, for example “develop new treatments” and “conduct clinical trials.” This would make your vocabulary more accurate and flexible without changing your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast between public and private healthcare and a concluding “Although” clause. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “The government have,” “a family member neede,” and “they have enough money or lab space,” where the intended meaning appears to require “do not have.” The opening sentence joins two independent clauses with a comma, and the sentence beginning “In public hospital” contains several clauses that are difficult to control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences around one clear main clause, checking punctuation and articles as you revise.
