Student answer (Band 5.0)
In oredr to get better health and medical teatment one should continue to do medicla reserch but, it is an expensive process in order to achieve good reserch many reserch projects are under the supervision of private comapanies rather than government.
Many private companies are funding the medical research projects for there self economic and brand growth but, the main motive behind the reserch is for better and afordalbe medicine and treatment moreover, some individual researchers also tend to have more self advantage then the societ betterment.
so in order to achieve the real motive behind the research I, personally belive that medical research projects should be done under government supervision that leads to better result.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear opinion that medical research should be conducted under government supervision, and you briefly address private companies and individual researchers. However, the response only minimally develops the task: the claims that companies seek “economic and brand growth” and that individuals may prioritise “self advantage” are not supported with explanations or examples. The benefits of government involvement are also asserted rather than explained, and the comparison among the three possible funders remains incomplete. The response is 116 words, below the required 250-word minimum, so there is not enough development to fully answer the question. To strengthen your response, explain how government funding could protect public health priorities and give a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic line of progression: you introduce the need for research, discuss private companies and individual researchers, and then state your preference for government supervision. This makes your overall position identifiable. However, the response is presented as one paragraph, so the stages of the argument are not clearly separated. Linking words such as “but,” “moreover,” and “so” are used, but the relationships between ideas are sometimes unclear, and several points are compressed into long sentences. Organise the response into an introduction, separate body paragraphs comparing the funding options, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions only where they accurately show contrast, addition, or result, and make references such as “the real motive” explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “medical research projects,” “private companies,” “government supervision,” and “treatment,” which helps communicate the central issue. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise expressions make the writing less clear, including “oredr,” “teatment,” “afordalbe,” and “self advantage.” Phrases such as “better result” and “societ betterment” are also vague or unnatural in this context. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, you could refer to “public health priorities,” “commercial interests,” and “affordable treatments” when explaining who should fund research and why.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, the sentence beginning “Many private companies are funding…” and the final sentence beginning “so in order to achieve…”. This shows an effort to express relationships between claims, but the range of sentence structures remains limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Commas are used where full stops or clearer clause boundaries are needed, as in “but, the main motive…” and “moreover, some individual researchers…”. The opening sentence also contains an unclear construction around “one should continue to do” research. Practise writing accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. Check punctuation, capitalisation of “I,” and sentence boundaries during revision.
