Student answer (Band 4.5)

In today's era it's common debate among the new generation that medical reseach projects are funded by private businesses . I am fully agreed with this statement that medical should be funded not by just government but also private companies and individuals. In the upcoming paragraphs I will give my reasons why I support this stance.

To begin with, medical projects are for the wellfare of the whole humanity, so it is beneficial not just for the certain group of people but all of us. What I mean by this is that, if a medical research proves positive, every individul will get its benefits. So giving funds to the projects which for us are not worthless.

Adding more to it, many private companies earn a lot of profits, so it does not effect their businesses if they provide some funds to the humanity same is the case of individuals who can afford to fund to the research for medical projects, because this fundings have long term positive affects for all people. henced, it proves giving funds is not bad it at all if we can afford it.

On the other hand, it also be considered that medical projects should also be checked, either they are for beneficial

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a position—that medical research should receive funding from government, private companies and individuals—and give relevant reasons about benefits to humanity and the ability of wealthy companies or individuals to contribute. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain how funding should be divided or compare the roles of the three sources in a developed way. The final paragraph begins to raise the need for research to be checked, but the point is unfinished, and there is no conclusion. The response is also 43 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop and support your ideas. Explain each reason with a specific example and complete every part of the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and the start of a contrasting point. Phrases such as “To begin with” and “Adding more to it” signal progression, and the reader can generally follow the central position. However, the progression is limited because the second body paragraph largely repeats the idea that funding benefits everyone, while the final paragraph stops mid-sentence. Connections within sentences are sometimes unclear, as in “So giving funds to the projects which for us are not worthless.” Use each paragraph to develop a distinct point, link claims to explanations or examples, and finish with a complete concluding paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “private companies,” “funds” and “long term positive effects,” so the main subject is identifiable. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural: “reseach,” “wellfare,” “individul,” “fundings,” and “positive affects.” Phrases such as “fund to the research” and “funds to the humanity” are also not idiomatic. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “fund medical research,” “contribute to research funding” and “benefit society.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise topic vocabulary would make your meaning easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “medical projects are for the wellfare of the whole humanity, so…” and a conditional structure beginning “if a medical research proves positive.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, articles, agreement and verb forms. For example, “I am fully agreed” should be “I fully agree,” while “it also be considered” needs a finite verb, such as “it should also be considered.” The sentence beginning “So giving funds…” is incomplete, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check articles and agreement before submitting.
