Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays era, many projects related to findings are been paid up by the private firms, individuals, government. I feel that the research should be carried out by private sector, Individual and government because it helps institutions with fundings and also in terms of permissions.

The research projects needs help in terms of economy because research works requires a lot of manpower and data to process. It is merely impossible for an researcher to have and invest that much money in any project where the business gints have that money. The money is also with government and many individuals in an enormus amount which can help in those research works. For instance in India there is a business giant Tata who invests in those kinds of researchs. To exemplify this further Tata invested a huge amoung in study of motor cars in 2015.

Whereas the other side of coin says that certain kind of researches requires much more permission to be carried out. In terms of that the researchers have to held to the government to take those permissions which could take a lot of

time. If the investor of those researches is government the. the scenario changes because government tries to pass the permission of the research because its money is in that study. Which helps to permissions of plans very rapidly. For example, the government of The United Kingdom invested in the study of murders which had a lot of permission and confidential data to pass which the government allowed.

In nutshell, researches should be carried out by Private organisations, Individuals and by the government due to its enormus benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear general view that research can be funded by private organisations, individuals and government, and you offer reasons involving the cost of research and the role of government in granting permissions. The examples about Tata and UK government research help make the discussion relevant. However, the question asks which source or sources should carry out research, and your position is not fully explained: the opening and conclusion list all three without clarifying whether you consider them equally suitable or what each should fund. Some support is also unclear, particularly the claim that government investment makes permissions pass rapidly. Explain the advantages and limitations of each source and connect your examples more directly to medical research to develop the response more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding sentence. The paragraphs broadly separate funding needs from permissions, and signposts such as “For instance” and “Whereas” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph moves from researchers’ costs to private firms, government and individuals, then to Tata, without clearly organising these points. In the second, “the other side of coin” suggests a contrast, but the connection between permission requirements and government funding needs further explanation. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “Which helps to permissions of plans very rapidly.” Use topic sentences and clearer references to show how each example supports the main argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “research projects,” “manpower,” “permissions,” “investor” and “confidential data,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make meaning less clear. “Findings” does not mean research projects, “fundings” is not the usual form, and “business gints” appears to mean business giants. Other phrases, such as “study of motor cars” and “study of murders,” are imprecise for describing research. Spelling errors such as “enormus,” “amoung” and “researchs” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of collocations for research and funding, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because research works requires a lot of manpower” and a conditional structure beginning “If the investor … is government.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “many projects … are been paid up,” “The research projects needs,” and “an researcher,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement and articles. The conditional sentence also breaks down at “the. the scenario changes,” while “Which helps…” is an incomplete sentence. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention as well. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence structures before adding more complex clauses.
