Student answer (Band 6.0)
Medicine is a life saving tool. Medical research projects can result as a life saving projects for many. Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies which is a very good approach. However, in my opinion, research should be carried by government or any company under government.
Research, especially in medical field covers various steps and needs a huge finance which is better if done under government. Many individuals or private companies who do the medical research may face problems like lack of fund and enough resources which make it difficult for them to proceed further. On the other hand, they might not have the authority for various things. On the contrary, if the research is done by or under the government, it can be more fruitfull and transparent. The government can choose the best way of the research. The government can point out the major medical issue and from various candidates, choose the best one for the research which really saves time and can also solve the existing medical problems.
We know, various researches are done by the individuals and students and most of the time, those researches are done to complete their curriculum or to gain the required outcome for their study. This really doesn't help in solving any problem practically. Moreover, the private companies may go for profit rather than the public service. So the research done under the government is the best in my opinion.
In the nutshell, the research done for good purpose either by any individual or the private company should always be appreciated and encouraged. However, proper monitoring should be done by concerned authority of the government and it would be the best if the government carries out the medical research to solve the existing medical issues practically.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you favour government-led research, while allowing that private companies and individuals may contribute. You address the main options and give relevant reasons, including the need for substantial funding and resources, government oversight, and the risk that companies may prioritise profit. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that student research “doesn't help in solving any problem practically” is broad and would be stronger with a qualified explanation or example. The benefits of government selection and monitoring could also be illustrated with a specific medical issue or research project. Develop these ideas more fully and compare the roles of government and private funders directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present reasons, and the conclusion restates your recommendation. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Moreover,” and “In the nutshell” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical or do not express the relationship clearly; “On the contrary” is used where a straightforward contrast would be more natural. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from student research to company profit without fully connecting these points to your central argument. Use clearer topic sentences and develop one main idea at a time, with references that make it explicit how each example supports government-led research.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “medical research,” “resources,” “transparent,” “public service,” and “monitoring.” This gives you enough range to communicate your position, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For instance, “a life saving tool” and “a life saving projects” are awkward, while “huge finance” and “fruitfull” are not natural or correctly formed in this context. Repeated use of “research” and “government” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common academic collocations and vary wording where appropriate, such as referring to “medical studies,” “public funding,” or “research oversight.” Check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including relative clauses (“which is a very good approach”) and conditional phrasing (“if the research is done by or under the government”). The main argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “projects which is” (subject–verb agreement), “in medical field” (article use), and “from various candidates, choose the best one” (an incomplete or awkwardly structured clause). There are also issues with sentence boundaries and punctuation, such as the comma after “We know.” To improve, check agreement and articles, and revise longer sentences so each clause has a clear subject and verb. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
