Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, a lot of medical researche projects are done by private companies for medical purposes. I believe that both government and non government sectors should take this responsibility to provide a better healthcare for individuals.

On one side, medical researches funded by local companies more beneficial for the public and country. Because private sectors are sponsering more experienced medical researchers. This will create a more healthy environment for the citizen of the country. Private companies has everything available in their reseach lab which create a more suitable envirnment of the expert to deliver a more quality research which is more worth paying for the society. For instance, two weeks before a reserch is done in russia by a private organisation uon monkey for spinal card transplant which became successful and after that they went for the same procedure on human beings where they change the spinal card to the patient successfully.

On the other side, Government should be more responsible for medical researches to provide a better and healthy life for their citizen. Because they have everything available to invest and to hire researchers from their own country or from foriegn nations. There are numerous research which private companies and indivduals can not afford. To illustrate this, in Singapore government baned non goverment authorities to perforom medical researches and announced that it is the responsibily of rulers to do it. I hold the view that the ruling authorities should keep their eyes on it to these kind of projects to ensure public health firstly.

In conclusion, government shoud be more responsible for that as compare to private interprises as they are salected by their citizen to provide healthy and safe life for them. Although medical researches funded by by non goverment organisation will ease finncial pressure on the government.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the central question and give a clear overall view: both sectors should contribute, while government should take greater responsibility. The two body paragraphs consider private and public funding, and you include examples to support each side. However, some points are not fully explained. For example, the claim that private companies provide more experienced researchers and better facilities needs a clearer link to how this benefits patients. The Russia example is difficult to follow, and the Singapore claim is presented without explaining its relevance or reliability. Develop these examples and explain more directly why government oversight and funding should lead the approach, while still acknowledging the role of private research.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On one side,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” make the broad progression easy to follow. However, the linking is sometimes mechanical, and several sentences begin with “Because” as though they were complete explanations, which interrupts the flow. The examples also need clearer connections to the claims they are meant to support, particularly the Singapore example. Some references, such as “they” in the Russia example, are not immediately clear. Use fewer formulaic transitions and build each paragraph through a claim, explanation and clearly connected evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “medical researchers,” “healthcare,” “invest,” and “public health,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “financial pressure.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “researche,” “sponsering,” “more quality research,” and “spinal card.” Some wording is also repetitive, especially “available” and “responsible.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand, particularly in the research examples. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, such as “conduct research,” “fund research,” and “high-quality research.” Aim for precise terms rather than adding complexity where the meaning is uncertain.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including relative clauses such as “which became successful” and a contrast between the roles of companies and government. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “Because private sectors are…” and “Because they have…” are sentence fragments when used as separate sentences. There are also agreement and article problems in “Private companies has” and “a more healthy environment,” as well as awkward sentence construction in “which create a more suitable environment.” The long Russia example contains several clauses but is difficult to follow because their relationships are not clearly controlled. Practise joining reasons to the main clause and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
