Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, many private companies give funds for various medical research project.I strongly believeb that not only private companies but also individuals and government should contribute towards medical research projects. In the first place , medical based projects are funded by private companies because they have enough money for medical projects. They can use expensive chemicals to make a good medicine. They put each and every penny just to find out a good teatment or medicine for a particular diseases . But it also has some notable drawbcaks. Private companies may more focus on profits than the public health. They don't care whether oradinary people can be benefited with this or not . In the second place, Government can allocate funds to medical research. If the government gives funds to the scinetist to find out a cure for more diseases then it will be accessable for ordinary people to treat. But sometimes bureaucracy delayed medical project which indirectly affect the poorer commiunities. To add up more, some medicine which is for the specific treatment required a international specialist team for research which government cannot afford. furthermore, individuals should tark part in medical researchers by giving funds. Moreover scientist can do research independently to make medicine by using different chemicals and sell it in a low prices . consequently, some people usually have limited financial resources to fund medical projects. In conclusion, i believe that every organisation should contribute to medical research projects . It should not only responsibility of private companies that gives funds . if every person helps in funding . then it might be possible to find out cure of those diseases which is life killing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the central question by arguing that private companies, governments and individuals should all contribute, and you give relevant reasons for each: companies can fund costly research, government funding may improve access, and individuals can support independent work. The contrast between profit motives and public health also shows awareness of an important issue. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that individuals can research and sell medicines cheaply is not explained or supported, and the government paragraph introduces specialist teams without showing clearly why this supports your overall position. Develop each reason with a specific example and explain how it strengthens your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on private companies, government and individuals, followed by a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “In the first place” and “In the second place” help readers follow the main sections, and the conclusion returns to your position. At times, however, linking feels mechanical, with “Moreover,” “To add up more,” and “consequently” used without always showing a precise relationship between ideas. Some connections within paragraphs are also unclear, particularly the shift from government funding to specialist teams. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the logical link between each supporting point explicit; clearer referencing would also help readers track what “it” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research,” “funds,” “profits,” “public health,” “bureaucracy” and “financial resources,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “ordinary people” and “specialist team.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the writing less clear, including “teatment,” “drawbcaks,” “accessable” and “life killing.” Some collocations are unnatural, for example “medical based projects,” “gives funds to the scientist,” and “sell it in a low prices.” Aim to learn topic-specific word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your meaning more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If the government gives funds … then it will be accessible” and a contrast introduced by “But.” This gives the response some variety, and the main message can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation recur. For instance, “Private companies may more focus” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, while “some medicine … required a international specialist team” has problems with tense, number and article use. Several sentences also run together or have inconsistent spacing and capitalization. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with conditional clauses, and proofread for sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement and articles.
