Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the current era, a large number of medical studies are founded by private organizations. While some people believe that private companies and individuals suppoty these peojects. Although, people and local organizations cannot support large-scale medical research projects finanically. I believe that government spend a huge sum on such medical peojects for free medical treatment and better healthcare facilities.
One of the main reasons, the community and private firm are not responsibile for these large-scale projects because they do not strong by finanically and economically. Additonally, they do not have sufficient money to develop modren life style due to unemployment and poverty. For example, many low-income families cannot afford expensive treatments, whilst local instituations may lack financial resources to assist medical research projects. As a result, governement should fund medical research to develop affordable medicine and healthcare facilities for disadvangates community.
On the other hand, many people argue that government spend huge sum on public medical research because they have sufficient resources for development of such type of projects. Furthermore, government-funded research can help scientists discover effective treatments for serious diseases and make medicines available at affordable prices. For instance, the authorities build new healthcare centers such as hospital and laborities in disadvantaged backgrounded areas for better treatments of different diseases such as breast cancer and cognitive issues. Therefore, the government involvment is essential for advanced treatment and medical opportunities.
To sum up, Although, people and local organizations cannot support large-scale medical research projects finanically. I believe that government spend a huge sum on such medical peojects for free medical treatment and better healthcare facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear preference for government funding, especially in the introduction and conclusion, and you explain relevant benefits such as developing affordable medicines and improving healthcare access. The examples about low-income families and treatment for serious diseases help keep the response on topic. However, the task asks you to consider whether research should be funded by private companies, individuals, or government, and the discussion of private companies and individuals is brief and not fully distinguished. Some claims, such as governments building hospitals and laboratories, describe healthcare provision rather than directly explaining how public funding supports research. Develop the alternatives more evenly and connect each example explicitly to medical research to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs generally focus on funding and healthcare. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “Therefore” show an effort to guide the reader. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the conclusion repeats much of the introduction, and the two body paragraphs both return to government funding without clearly contrasting the options. Some links are inaccurate or awkward, including “Although” at the start of the conclusion and “On the other hand” before another paragraph supporting government funding. Organise the body around a clear comparison of private, individual and government funding, and use transitions that accurately show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “large-scale medical research projects,” “financial resources,” “effective treatments,” and “affordable prices.” These phrases help communicate the central argument. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “suppoty,” “peojects,” “finanically,” and “disadvangates community.” Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “strong by financially and economically” and “disadvantaged backgrounded areas.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “fund research,” “publicly funded studies,” and “low-income communities” would help express your ideas clearly without relying on repeated general words such as “government” and “projects.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “While some people believe…” and a reason clause with “because.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “government spend a huge sum” needs subject–verb agreement, while “Although, people and local organizations cannot support…” is an incomplete or incorrectly connected clause. The sentence beginning “One of the main reasons” also lacks a complete, well-formed structure. Work on complete sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation, especially when joining clauses. Building accurate simple sentences first, then adding one subordinate clause at a time, will improve control.
