Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadys, private companies are mostly funding to many medical research projects, has become a widely disscused issue. In my opinion, I strongly believe that government need to fund these research projects because of its numerous benifits.

The primary reason why I suppourt this view is that government need to fund because it helps to reduce the cost of the product. For example if medicine is developed in the private industires they will sell the product in more expensive. As a result, a common people cannot used to purchase the product. Therefore, government need to show intrest on these experiments.

Another important reason is that public safety. In other words, government provides the safety and had more concern of the experiment. This can lead to make a good research with out any distrubances, even the private companies provides the same. For instance, any damage occurs in the work place the authority make take responsible for this. Consequently, it supports best in terms of price and safety of the people.

In conclusion, I finally believe that government should need to provide capital to the medical research projects rather than private companies because to make note about the public health and price

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you argue that government should fund medical research, and you give two relevant reasons—lower prices and public safety. The example about privately developed medicine being expensive helps explain the affordability point. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it does not meaningfully compare government funding with funding by individuals, and the safety argument is asserted rather than explained with a specific example. The conclusion repeats your view but does not add a developed final reason. The response is 51 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a relevant example, and address the alternatives in the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs are generally focused: the first discusses cost, while the second turns to safety. Connectors such as “For example,” “As a result” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and linking phrases can feel mechanical. For instance, “Consequently, it supports best in terms of price and safety” does not clearly connect to the preceding workplace example. The conclusion also ends abruptly. Make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit, use pronouns with clear references, and ensure the final sentence completes the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “public safety,” “product” and “public health,” so the main subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “funding to” projects, “sell the product in more expensive,” and “show intrest on these experiments.” Repeated use of “government,” “product” and “research” also restricts variety. Aim to learn accurate word partnerships, such as “fund research,” “sell a product at a higher price” and “take an interest in research.” Proofread spelling carefully, and use more precise terms such as “treatment,” “research funding” or “patients” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if medicine is developed” and a result clause introduced by “As a result.” However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors in sentence construction, agreement, verb forms and articles sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “government need to fund” lacks agreement, “a common people cannot used to purchase” has an incorrect noun phrase and verb form, and “the authority make take responsible” is not grammatically controlled. The opening sentence also combines clauses without a clear structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement, articles and verb forms in each sentence.
