Student answer (Band 5.5)
In these days, many projects of medical research is funded by personal companies. In my openion, the goverment should carry out the medical research. In this essay, i will explain my openion with reasons.
The foremost argument to justify my stand is that the goverment is responsible for health research projects. The goverment runs the country, and public is paying tax to the goverment. Therfore, the goverment is responsible for health related projects. For instance, in 2019 covid disease spread all over the country. The goverment take some serious steps and carry out health research projects to control the disease. It was helpful for whole country. If goverment did not took the step, it should be more difficult to control the situation. Furthermore, many peaople are getting sick because of the several diseases. Most of them belongs to lower class. The goverment should take step and start some health research projects. So, the diseases could control.
In addition,The goverment have a authority on big scale. The goverment can start a big project for health care. Which can be helpful for medical field. Meanwhile, the medical research projects could be funded by private cmpanies. It will be useful for medical Industry. Individual, can also do research projects but they would need to be financially stable.
To conclude, the goverment has solid resources so, it should carry out the research projects. While, private companies or individuals could help in medical research projects. Although they should not carry out full medical research projects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe government should lead medical research, while private companies and individuals may assist. You address the alternatives and give relevant support, especially the example of government action during the COVID-19 outbreak and the point that lower-income people may need public support. However, some reasoning is asserted rather than explained. For example, saying that taxpayers make the government responsible does not show why government research would be more effective or fairer than private research. The claim that research would help control diseases also needs a specific explanation or example. Develop these comparisons and clarify the government’s role alongside private funding to make the response more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main position is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “The foremost argument,” “Furthermore” and “In addition” help signal the sequence of points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “Which can be helpful for medical field” is a fragment and does not connect smoothly to the previous idea. The shift from government responsibility to private-company funding also needs a clearer explanation of how the two roles relate. Use topic sentences to organise each paragraph around one main reason, and make references such as “It” and “they” explicit where their meaning could be uncertain.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “medical research projects,” “health-related projects,” “financially stable” and “resources.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the writing less precise. For example, “personal companies” is not the intended term for businesses, and “carry out health research projects” is repeated without much variation. There are also spelling errors such as “openion,” “goverment” and “peaople,” alongside awkward phrases such as “have a authority on big scale.” Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing public funding, research leadership and collaboration, and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If government did not took the step” and a result clause beginning “so the diseases could control.” These attempts show an effort to express cause and consequence, but some forms are inaccurate. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “projects … is funded” and “The government have,” incorrect verb forms in “did not took,” and missing or misplaced articles in “have a authority.” The fragment “Which can be helpful for medical field” also affects sentence structure. Communication is generally possible, but these errors reduce accuracy. Practise agreement, past-tense forms after auxiliaries, articles and complete clause construction, while retaining a mix of sentence patterns.
