The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The line grpah illustrates that the people in United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal had emitted the carbon emission between 1967 and 2007 per person.

Overall, in the year 1967 Portugal and Italy had increased steadily in the emissions of CO2, however Sweden and United kingdom had declined gradually. Portugal reached the emission level of 5.5 metric ton from 1.7 and Italy at the year of 2007 considered as the second highest carbon emissions country at a level of 7.8 metric tonnes.

Sweden had seen a flucutuated pattern that from 1967 to 1977 it rose higher and reached 10.1 metric tonnes of emission and there is a steep decline from 1977 to 2007. It reached the same level of portugal in year 2007. From the year 1967 to 2007, United kingdom reamined at the top even thouugh it had a downward pattern. From 10.5 metric tonnes it reached to 8.2 metric tonnes
