Student answer (Band 6.0)
The rendered line graph depicts the imformation about the average emissions of carbon dioxide per person in countries like United Kindom, Swedan, Italy and Portugal in a given time period of 1967 and 2007. The data has ben calibrated into numbers.
Overall, it is crystall clear that united kindom was its peak value in latter year whereas Portugal and Swedan was holding a least value in same year.
At a fleeting glance, it is evident that Portugal was experiencing a constant increace in year 1967 to 1987 with a initial value of approximately 1.5 metric tonnes and final value of roughly 3.7 tonnes and then had a minor rise upto a decade and then combines with the final value of swedan of almost 5.5 and now talking about swedan which was rising constantly for a decade and had a sharp downfall to about 7 in year 1987 and then constantly moves to its final value.
Moving further, United Kindom was ranging from almost 10.9 to 8.9 in a time period of 1967 to 2007 and now coming with Italy having a initial value of nearly 4 tonnes and risen to almost 6.4 in year 1977 . Despite of having minor fluctuations the value goes upto approximately 7.8 maximum

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the graph, identifying the trends for the four countries. However, the overview is inaccurate; the student states the UK was at its peak in the latter year (2007), whereas the graph shows it peaked in 1967. Furthermore, the description of the data is sometimes confusing, such as the claim that Portugal 'combines with the final value of Sweden'. While the key trends are identified, the lack of precision in reporting the data and the incorrect overview prevent a higher score. The response would benefit from a more careful analysis of the specific data points provided in the graph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'and now talking about swedan' and 'and now coming with Italy'. These transitions feel informal and disrupt the flow of the report. The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow because the sentences are long and lack clear logical links. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of the writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'imformation', 'Kindom', 'Swedan', and 'increace'. Additionally, the word choice is sometimes awkward, such as 'calibrated into numbers' and 'fleeting glance', which are not appropriate for a formal report. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'metric tonnes' and 'fluctuations', the frequent spelling mistakes and limited range of vocabulary restrict the score. Focusing on accurate spelling and using more formal, academic terminology would improve this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb tenses, missing articles (e.g., 'in year 1967'), and subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'Portugal and Swedan was holding'). The sentence structure is often repetitive and sometimes confusing, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex sentence structures.
