Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some main features, such as the overall trends for the UK and Sweden, the analysis is incomplete. You have not fully described the data for all four countries, and the information provided is somewhat fragmented. To improve, ensure you cover all countries mentioned in the graph and provide a more comprehensive overview of the data points, including the starting and ending values for each country to allow for clearer comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into two short paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by the lack of sufficient detail and some awkward transitions. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'Overall' and 'while', the connection between sentences is sometimes weak. The paragraphing is present but the content within the paragraphs is not well-developed. To achieve a higher band, focus on grouping information more logically—perhaps by comparing countries with similar trends—and use a wider variety of linking words to guide the reader through your analysis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'emsissions', 'Swiden', 'United Kingodm', 'eveb') that detract from the quality of the writing. You use some appropriate terms like 'gradual decrease' and 'dramatic decrease', but the range is limited. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable', to better describe the trends shown in the graph.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation (e.g., using commas instead of decimal points in '10,3' and '8,2') and subject-verb agreement. Some sentences are also slightly awkward, such as 'resulted with it having'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading your work to correct basic errors and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
