The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The line graph illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide every person exhaled in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from the time line 1976 to 2007.
Overall, the average carbon dioxide emission is very high and of approximately 11tonnes in 1967 but gradually a greater decline can be shown in the year 2007 and is about 8.5tonnes. In the year 1967, the average carbon dioxide emission is low initially but it rose steadily and about 7.5tonnes emission can be observed in Italy. If we compare three countries that are discussed above the rate of carbon dioxide is comparatively low in the year 1967 but a greater upward trajectory was showed in year 1997 and level off observed in year 2007. In 1977, carbon dioxide emission is very high but a steady fluctuation had happened in year 2007. From the data of four countries it is sure that the emission of carbon dioxide is getting low day by day.
