IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

If we talk about the carbon dioxide emmision the graph clearly says Itlay is on the top of the list. Following Itlay, Portugal secures second place in emission of carbon dioxide. However, there are two countries which become successful in keeping the graph downtrend that is United Kingdom and Sweden. If we talk about United Kingdom there was time when United Kingdom was a position 1st but due to some measures taken by Envoirmental Safety Department they successfully able to decrease the carbon dioxide levels and took the graph on lower side.

Although if we look on Sweden Progess we can see a rapid ratchet up in the carbon dioxide measures but Sweden also took very influential steps to remarkbly move the graph downward fastly and make a very sharp progess which need world appreciation
